Soft tank? It's a frickin' hard tank.

We are absolutely horrible on both ends of the court. Is Ryan able to fix these problems given a full season? Call me skeptical...

All this tanking is doing is embarrassing our young guys. Teaching them bad habits and making it ok to lose. Hey we might get 1 more % at Zion though

No, our young guys are embarrassing themselves unless you're telling me Saunders has instructed them not to play defense or give effort on offense.

If it pays of and they move up to number one I'll be expecting your apology! :)

Haha. No problem I will apologize. I just don't think the young guys are getting anything out of getting blown out night after night. Like they aren't competitive. I think they gave a stat a couple games ago that the wolves gave up the most pts over a 5 game stretch since 1997

Our young guys with KAT and Wiggins were more than competitive the other night against Memphis. They beat Memphis. So these guys aren't getting blown out every night.

They look bad so far tonight against a much better team than Memphis - a team also highly motivated to clinch a playoff spot tonight and improve their playoff position.

Meanwhile our younger players are getting valuable experience playing alongside KAT against a good team. Development comes from losing as much as it does from winning. You won't get better if you don't play. The organization is also getting a valuable extended look at these younger guys. That extended look is essential for future planning and personnel decisions this summer.

I'll add that the guys dragging us down the past few minutes are vets Bayless and Tolliver. Then we just saw Wiggins miss that long two to end the 3rd.

We're going to disagree on this one. We are 1-6 in our last 7 games losing by an average of 14.5 pts per game. We aren't being competitive. Giving up 120.3 pts per game. I am fine playing the young guys but they are not playing with good NBA players right now. The organization has given up on the season the effort is not there, guys aren't even trying on defense. We are going through the motions and the young guys are picking up bad habits in blow out after blow out.

Its just another season where the culture is about losing picking up 1 more % point in the draft. This is a massive losing culture because we dont care about winning. There is a decent chance we could end the season losing 14 of our last 15 because we don't give a shit.

I don't know about players not caring. You said they aren't playing with good players right now. I think that's more of an issue than effort. Defense I think its more guys suck at it and what we need to do can't be fixed in season. If you look at all the injuries and start breaking it down it does get pretty rough in terms of talent and experience thats worthwhile. That's my opinion.

Look most of us though it would be a struggle or a pleasant surprise to be over .500 (for some anywhere near .500) if Covington had been healthy after we dealt Butler. Covington played some games and missed a large chunk of time now. Seriously what did we really expect? We traded away a very good player in Butler had a bunch of injuries and we sucked. What is shocking about that? Lakers get Lebron and maybe get worse? THAT is pretty embarrassing. I mean seriously.

Monster - I agree. Our young guys are playing hard. I didn't see them just
"going through the motions" tonight or the other night against a Memphis. We're just not a very good team now with Butler traded and Covington out. As I've said, we'd probably win more games if Rose and Teague were playing, but we still wouldn't be very good and we wouldn't be building for the long haul.

The good news is that KBD continues to look good. Okogie has been more disciplined defensively and, until tonight, his shooting has recently improved. I thought Tyus was solid tonight and against Memphis. Saric looked really good tonight.

As long as I see Saric, Okogie and KBD play hard and improve, I'll accept the losses with an eye towards the future.

I didn't expect us to quit on the season again. Throw away another 15 games. To shut down 5 rotation players. Still play Saric less than when Thibs had him. Continue to refuse to shoot 3s. Continue to be the worst defense in the NBA. Kat and Wiggins are going through the motions on defense showing the young guys it's ok to sluff off. Counted 5 rebounds that weren't going to be Kat's but our players just gave it to him to increase his All NBA case.

Yes I'm frustrated that this organization cares more about being comfortable, than trying to win. Yet another season where the Wolves organization quit and players like Wiggins, KBD, Reynolds, tyus, okogie get rewarded with playing time because they are young not because of their play on the court. Yet another coach that will be hired because he is safe and cheap and lost at a higher rate than one of the most hated coaches in Wolves history but hey he is nice.
