Well, what would your expert game-plan be as a coach against Andrew Wiggins? Just roll out a basketball and say play ball? Because that is basically what opponents have been doing to the Wolves for six years and it very clearly wasn't working.
We're not even 10 games into the D'Angelo Russell era. Perhaps instead of making "matador" comments or fake game-planning against the starting point guard we might discuss the game that the Wolves actually won tonight or how Minnesota can upgrade this roster even more.
A step further, I'd wager everything in my possession that the majority of Wolves fans feel a lot better about this current nucleus than perhaps anything they've had in the last decade. That's a solid start. Gersson Rosas is responsible for surrounding them with the compatible pieces to make it a winner. And as far as I can see, he's made some pretty solid strides in terms of roster construction, but there's obviously much left to do.

My kid made me watch. So we watched only the final few minutes.
The Wolves are ready to win the NBA championship. And Zion sucks. He missed almost everything.

Zion is an absolute handful to deal with, but I do wonder what his ceiling is and whether it's quite as stratospheric as a LeBron or Giannis. Is he more like a slightly better version of Blake Griffin?

I just can't see his body holding up playing the way he plays.

Depending on the night, I can see anything from Julius Randle to Larry Johnson to Blake Griffin and even Charles Barkley. I have never seen a LeBron James type with him, though. That's just not the style with which he plays.

If he's Blake Griffin, that's good. I think we've forgotten the hype train that followed Griffin and in retrospect, the kind of career he has had (I guess getting traded to Detroit makes people forget). I'm not sure history is gonna be kind to Griffin unfortunately though.

He's got some pretty quick hands too, as he gets a fair amount of blocks and steals for a guy who is generally pretty much nailed to the ground.
Summer league is gonna be very very interesting. Wolves better win the summer league title. No excuses
Reid
Vanderbilt
Culver
Nowell
McLaughlin
Evans
Spellman
and that's not potentially including 3 more picks (assuming there aren't any more big deals between the draft and summer league)

Cam, I think going back two years with Butler coming on board would easily trump this core.
What time are you available. I am assuming you'll help me load everything!

Attack the PG who can't play defense is the game plan for half the league. Kyrie, Lillard, Kemba, Steph, Westbrook, Rose and even Tony Parker back in the day, Trae Young and on and on. How do all their teams make it work? There's maybe on one hands worth of PG's who are both a game changer on offense and good at defense. The rest who can change the game offensively are in the same boat as DLO and their teams make it work. That excuse or "hole" is something a lot of teams deal with so that isn't gonna be our kryptonite anymore than half the league also has to account for.

It's more about effort from the PG spot.
Russell simply has to "try" to make an effort more often than not. Even with that low-bar... there have been some questionable moments.
As noted, there are bigger issues on the squad than defense at the 1.
