Even though they changed the odds you still want the highest chance and worst record so you can still be in the top 5 likely.
If they really want to eliminate tanking then make it a lottery for all draft positions not in the playoffs. Heck make it even odds too. So you don't make the playoffs all teams have equal chance for any draft spot.
They should also do the ping pong balls in a public place with unlimited media access, just for some transparency. I have no idea if I should trust the guys behind closed doors or not. That just makes it seem fishy to me that they won't allow cameras in so they can keep the results private for an hour or whatever. Just do a live show. I think it would be difficult to rig a machine with ping pong balls to spit out a certain ball so do it like that.
Whatever, my 2 cents. I'd rather not see tanking at all as a "smart" option for teams.
Of course like I posted before I would eliminate the max contracts on players too. That just allows top players to rig it so they can win. Then make the court 2.5-3 feet wider and extend the 3 line a bit. Players are bigger and faster and shoot better. It makes sense to make the courts slightly larger and extend the line a foot or so. Then have the other 6 inches as space between the 3 point line and sideline (need a bit more space there).
