I would have liked to see Tyus get more run he seemed to defend the small PGs as well as anyone although Teague was better in that regard the 2nd half. The Wolves were good defensively in the paint...wait what?!? Weird but good to see. I'm glad Carlisle didn't play Meseri more minutes it seemed like he was making some plays espcially defensively for them in the first half.

The 7 turnovers are a bit of a stain on KAT's otherwise stellar game, but yeah, we don't win without his ability to get the ball in the hoop in a myriad of ways.

This was also one of those nights where Crawford came up big for us. He got burned defensively a few times, but his offense made up for it.

Good point. I didn't remember Towns having that many turnovers. I'm thinking at least 2 of them were offensive fouls?

Yeah Crawford seemed like a net positive tonight for sure. I know this team has shot creators but man it's nice to have a guy with that much juice to get a shot at almost any point in the game coming off the bench. Tonight I was thinking when he hit a catch and shoot 3 it feels like he could easily be used in a more complimentary role as a 3 point guy. We obviously need all the 3 point shooting we can get.

I get why coaches stick with specific rotations. It's been noted that NBA guys dig routine and knowing their roles and expectations. So there's a reason why the same guys get a rest at the exact same time every game.

On the flip side, it throws everything out of whack when there's an injury. Or foul trouble. Or stagnation. And it limits development and I'd think it affects guys being at their sharpest. There have been rumblings about getting Tyus Jones more run especially after he was effective in his brief run as a starter (especially for being competent and professional defensively).

Dallas ran with two of the smallest NBA guards last night... sometimes at the same time. Jones still only got his usual 12 minutes.

[Note: There's something missing from Wolves games this season. I know it's hard to be disappointed when the team is 16 - 11 after what we've been through for 13 (28) years. But it's just not "fun." And I think it's in part because of the predictability of it? We know what we're going to get. Every game. The same players. The same rotations. The same iso ball. The same sideline comments. The same "Green, green" calls. The same "Oh My God!" from Towns after a "bad" call. The same flat, deep free throw from Wiggins... followed by the same glorious spin move and inefficient turnaround jumper. Blah blah blah. I'm just gonna keep telling myself... "16 - 11... 16 - 11... 16 - 11" and shut up now.]

I'm with you in Tyus playing in a small lineup with Teague or in just getting more minutes. One defense for Thibs in the idea of doing that in this game was Crawford played really well so it made sense to keep him out there. Tyus is one of the sorta head scratching things about Thibs. I think it's obvious Thibs actually likes Tyus (or doesn't loath him for sure lol) but why doesn't he actually play him more? Part of it could be your point about him being more aggressive offensively.

I think Tyus has a hard time putting pressure on a defense since he doesn't possess any elite scoring skills. He's a great game manager that protects the ball and keeps it moving, but you can't really count on him to make lemonade out of lemons when all other options are exhausted. Crawford can do this.

That being said, Teague is kind of a lemonade guy, so it does seem reasonable to think he and Teague could get some minutes together.

I'm more of a Jack and Coke or sweet tea kind of guy myself.

I got a kick out of this one Cam.

I think at some point Tyus will be able to beat guys without that juice off the dribble but instead beat guys with subtle moves kinda like old man Andre Miller. They are somewhat different physical players Tyus also has a better jumper which will help him be able to score either with or without the ball.
