I never said that. I said Butler by himself isn't good enough to get us over 10 more wins and I think our range ends up in the 38-42 range - i.e. about 10 more wins than last year. I'm not seeing the defensive improvement needed to compete much better than .500 ball. We're dead last in defensive rating which is worse than last year. We're lucky to be .500 right now.

Butler can only do so much....

True, in fact he would have sunk those two free throws instead of missing one like Teague did, giving OKC a chance to tie it up at the buzzer! Plus he probably wouldn't have been called for an over-and-back violation! To be fair, Teague was probably fouled on that play.

Got a feeling that we are going to have a lot of fights on this board this season. So many polarizing opinions on players vs old players.

We all are so hungry for a winner we are all on edge.

We done even have TeamRicky or Camden0916 (miss his input) anymore

The Butler deal was a no brainer, so the Rubio/Teague swap is the most relevant deal on which to evaluate Thibs the GM...and the board is relatively split on this move, which makes it a good talker. I was happy to see the reports that Teague had a good night, but with Russ going off for 17, 9 and 8, this is the 6th consecutive game in which our PG has been outplayed (no shame of course in being outplayed by Russ). It's still too early to conclude on this one, but I still think we would be a stronger team with Ricky (not to mentoin more flexible financially). And also more watchable...I worry a little about Teague's attitude (he seemed to pout when he was benched in game 1, and he also clearly gave up in the Pacers' game), and that's one thing we never had to worry about with Ricky.

Respectively disagree LST. Think you needed to watch the game (understand you are away). In his role I honestly don't think I could ask more from teague. Got us back in the game when we fell down double degits.

Teague played a lot better in his role than Westbrook did in his. If you don't believe me read a thunder message board from last night's game.

Still can have these debates but yesterday was teague best game yet and if he is consistent (what he hasn't been) what he brought last night is better than ricky could bring.

I don't even have a problem with Teague - I think he is just as good as Rubio, but with different strengths and weaknesses. I'm just responding to the digs by Doper, who can't help himself.

I am not calling you out. Haha. Just in general every good teague game it is this is why we traded for him ricky can't do this. Every bad teague game is, Thibs is an idiot, we would be 6-0 with ricky and we would have not made a single mistake.

That was my point. Not calling you out. I agree both bring different skill sets and I think the are in the and tier of pg. Just these extremes both ways are going to get old

For me, yeah they are about the same. I see Ricky as an overall slightly better defender in that he consistently gives you effort and hustle. Teague is by far the better scorer around the rim or off the dribble, both are mediocre 3 point shooters. Ricky a better passer.

What made me more mad was trading LaVine and Markkanen for Butler. I like LaVines upside and if I do a trade I would have sent Wiggins. LaVine will be the better player in the long run. Butler no doubt is better now and that trade makes us better now, but will we be good enough in 2-3 years to compete for a Championship. That's what matters.

Also Thibbs coaching has to be questioned heavily at this point with how poor the teams defense has been still. At least we saw more effort by KAT and Wiggins in the 4th quarter, which is why we came out with the victory. They need to learn if they don't play 100% on defense we won't be sniffing playoffs or anything better anytime soon.
