This actually feels kinda disappointing to me. I really wanted to see what kind of defense that starting 5 could have had with Rubio, Butler, Wig, Dieng, Kat with the idea that Butler/Thibs can get more out of Wig and Kat on D. It could have been a nightmare defensive unit.

Rubio getting traded tells me Thibs wants Butler to be a main ball handler which makes me think whichever PG comes in won't be handling it all the time. Who are the best off the ball PGs available? And can they play D?

Maybe Thibs wasn't that enamored with Rubio's D as well? It wouldn't be a complete surprise to me. He had been the "best defender" on some awful defenses. It is curious to me that a coach known for defense wanted to trade a seemingly plus defender off our team when our offense had relatively good numbers. I'm sure Thibs has a plan for our D without Rubio.

Because if you paid attention to our offense in 4th quarters the past 4 years you'd understanding our offensive rating is over rated.

I have paid attention to the separate splits. I stated on numerous times that our offense wasn't as good as advertised in the 2nd half. We were too extreme last year, and too bad before that. Rubio will always be controversial. I'm glad we don't have to talk about him anymore.

Hell, couldn't even get Aldrich packaged with it? Really hate this idea of signing Lowry to 25 mil.

Beverly would be the best option by far. If we flipped this pick + something for him I'd like it.

Is teague better though

Teague can shoot pretty well, and is a decent distributor. I like him more than a few other options. Not more than Ricky at 14 mil though.

I don't mind Teague if he's the guy. He's younger than Lowry having just turned 29, and he isn't going to cost as much. Might allow us to get another nice piece. Man, would i like to hear a Gallo to Minny rumor about now.
