Wolves Back Mitchell
Re: Wolves Back Mitchell
I doubt Thibs considers the Lakers regardless of where their pick lands unless he is privy to upcoming free agency dealings. If Morey is canned in Houston, he would probably have some interest there but I still think Minny would be at the top of his list.

We'll see. Those are all the sexy names. But do those guys want to come here and work under Glen Taylor? Reality might look more like Kevin McHale, Randy Whittman....etc, etc. I'm not trying to poop on the party. But I won't believe it until I see it. I just hope whatever happens, happens quickly and the people are in place in time to take full advantage of the draft. This is a big off season.
It sounds like Glen is seriously going out and looking for the best people for the job and that means running the entire team whether that's one guy or two. This is a legit search with legit people employed to do it.
Let's think about Glen another way he HAS to realize and be hearing from other people he can possibly get any coach he wants. Who doesn't want to do that?
I agree Monster. I think there are outside forces pulling Glen aside and saying, "dude, you do realize you have one of the most attractive jobs available in the entire NBA, don't you?"
(except without the dude part).
The internal voice in my head can't hear that without the 'dude'. That part is definitely there.

Re: Wolves Back Mitchell
Thanks for the kind welcome Q! Notwithstanding my previous (somewhat resigned) support of Mitchell, I'm really glad the Wolves are going to be conducting a real coaching search and going after premier coaching candidates. It's something a good organization would pursue and frankly, I would never have expected it out of the wolves.
And though I do hope they do hire a Thibs or a Joerger, I also really appreciate what Sam Mitchell and his staff did for the organization this year. It would have been easy for any of them to put their own goals ahead of those of the team by selling out and playing veterans, putting in a half-hearted effort, or simply going through the motions and tanking again this season. All of the familiar excuses were there. Instead, I thought they did an admirable job motivating and developing the young players as the season went on. They may not be the best staff to bring the organization the success it so sorely needs, but they did right by us this season, and for that I will always be thankful.
