Thoughts?
Not going to happen. Flip has stated in plain terms that he will stay on as coach until someone from his "short list" of coaching candidates is ready to take over. To the best of my knowledge, that short list is:
1.) Santa Clause
2.) Easter Bunny
3.) Tooth Fairy
Carlos - This is great info. I think only option 3 has a year around commitment. Options 1 & 2 only are committed to 1 day a year.
Option 1 would kill our ability to play a Christmas Day game. He'd be exhausted from the night before.

We know Option's 1 and 3 are not afraid of flying and all seem OK with traveling.

TMZ reports option 2 has affiliations with the state of Minnesota, like Kevin Garnett and Tyus Jones. We must root for him immediately.

Makes me believe it was the Kings ownership who wanted Malone fired and not their GM (or decision maker).

That's what I was thinking. Thus far, the Kings ownership group seems embarrassingly terrible.

I agree you have to wonder if there is more to the story but this is a spot where the Sacramento Bee reporter claims Deassandro was the guy along with Mullin who wanted to fire Malone and then did so. Maybe it was all part of the master plan. Lol

I've always felt this was always just a plan for Flip to one day hand the reins over to his son once Ryan was in position to lead a team in true hokey Minnesota fashion. He just doesn't wanna make it seem like he'd only be getting the job because Ryan's his son, so building up guys like Wiggins and Lavine, etc. would look good on Ryan's resume.

Flip can now go to Glen and say that there are no viable candidates, therefore I need to continue to teach an outdated offense combined with shitty defense
WE SHOULD HAVE HIRED MALONE
So ummm... what other things do you want to predict?
