I don't the Brown hate. He's probably our best defender of PGs, rivaled only by Rubio, and SGs, rivaled only by Wiggins.
He's a guy that can be used for part time defensive assignments, or he can play heavy minutes during injury crisis. He never b/tches about his role. He's dirt cheap and still young. To me that much more valuable than 29 y.o. Croatian Steve Novak or retired Luke Ridnour.

Bleed doesn't believe in Brown's talent and that's a fair position. The worry about keeping Brown which signals that Tyus makes sense also. I would counter that somewhat like Brooklyn mentions Brown can play SG (when Martin gets hurt which is likely to happen) which also allows some other players to slide down to play PF if it was needed. This is all limited minutes of course. I don't think Brown is the defensive player Brooklyn stats but the potential to be average at 2 guard spots is there and if he reaches that he would have plenty of value.

I like Brown as a guy that can come in play a couple positions and be a solid cheap deep backup guy on this team long term. His upside isn't high but I see him having a solid value because of his skill set and position flexibility. A team isn't just built with stars and top rotation guys it's also important to develop depth. I'd like to see what Brown has or at least let him practice with the team for a few more months so they see what he has. His deal isn't fully guaranteed till January so if they let him go before that because they need help at another spot they can do that. Either way the money isn't a lot but yeah.

I don't sense any Brown hate here, Brooklyn. I think the board sees him accurately for what he is...a pretty good backup PG that, even though he doesn't shoot very well, isn't going to hurt us if he makes the roster and Mitchell needs to use him. I do think that there is a belief that he is not a long-term answer for us at PG, so any 3rd-string minutes he takes away from Tyus Jones is probably not helpful to our future. That said, he was arguably our best player in Vegas, and I would not be opposed at all to him becoming our 15th player. Just don't put him ahead of Tyus, please.

Since Luke isn't available (and who knows maybe the Wolves were a team that showed interest at some point) is there another guy you would like to see instead of Brown or Rudez?
