Defense anyone?.....Anyone? Hello?
(we need shooting too, but it's a distant second to defense).

Ugh, it's that kind of criteria that generally leads to poor basketball decisions. Ultimately we want to win games, not re-assemble the all-state team.

Tyus is going to be a solid pro. The marketing angle is a bonus, but it's far from the primary reason we'd take Tyus. He's a floor general who is very unselfish yet can take over a game when needed. That sounds like a great backup PG who may earn a starting spot someday which is the goal of mid to late first round picks. I think too many people are looking for home runs everywhere when sometimes you just need a solid player who won't lose you a game.
If we could sign Ridnour for a cheap 1 year deal fine maybe he can't play anymore but I would guess he can still come in be a vet guy hit some shots and not suck too bad. Not a ringig endorsement I know but I see him being a good fit with Flip.
If we could get Jones from Houston for basically some sort of salary dump situation it's a no brainer. I doubt we can though.
Tyus if we can move up to get him would work for me. I'm a little mixed on how I feel about him but he is young so he has some potential that I like. It sounds like the Price to move up keeps getting higher though but who knows what will happen there have been some strange deals the past few years.
I'd just like to take a moment to point out how awesome this board is. We're still 2 hours and change away from the draft even starting, and we're 50+ comments deep. This thing is going to explode (good or bad) when we finally make that pick.

I think the Minnesota connection would be a bonus with Tyus. I like his fire and think he will be a competitive NBA player. I actually think he is going to go a bit higher than most mocks have him projected though. Don't think we'd really get a shot at him.

Understood. I'm skeptical that his college and high school results translate to the next level. I also think he'll get destroyed defensively, even if he does a halfway decent job running the offense on the other end. I could be wrong.

Actually I've read good things about his defense. He's white but very athletic.
