This the second worst MIN sports trade in history (Herschel will probably always be first). This makes the Brent Burns trade competent. This makes the KG trade look like Highway robbery.

So this is better than four 1sts and cap crap from HOU? Or whatever MIA would have countered with?

If you extrapolate this trade out, MIN just traded #7/Zach/Dunn for Covington/Saric/Bayless/2nd. That's not winning basketball. This is David Kahn/John Gabriel nonsense. I can't take anymore. Move to Seattle. Move to the Lake of Tranquility. I don't care.

Respond if you want. I'm not going to read it.

I like this trade. I watched a lot of Sixers games last year. Covington and Saric were well regarded by Philly fans. It's .75 cents instead of the expected.60 on the dollar.

You know Jimmy is going to miss some time. I'd bet Embiid's injury troubles are not behind him. I could see Simmons staying healthy but that will have to play itself out. And we know Patton can't stay on the floor. They better hope everyone is ready to go at playoff time.

That was Pelton's take on this trade on ESPN. He said the way the Sixers could help that is they have a roster spot plus expiring contracts to make a deal. Remember Z. Smith has no timetable for being able to play also. I could see them cutting Patton or trading him to a team that wants him for nothing or something like that if they run into problems.

So trade was basically Butler, Patton and Jason for Covington, Saric, Bayless and 2nd rounder. Liked even the one that was reported but I like this even more.

Wolves were never gonna get fair value, but they got two strong rotational players. Now lose 60 games and set our eyes to the draft and getting Bill Self from Kansas.

I'm probably more in the Cool camp than the Crazy/Jason camp....This whole situation has sucked the life force out of me as a fan. I suspect the same can be said of the locker room. Simply doing something - anything! - to get Jimmy out of town is better than the dysfunctional circus we have suffered through over the past month or so.

That being said, Covington has always been a guy on my list of wings I'd love to see in a T-Wolves uniform. He does the two things we need most: Defense and 3-point shooting. He isn't a sniper like Redick, but you have to respect his outside shot. This also ensures that KAT is absolutely the center of gravity on offense (so long as Wiggins and Rose don't get too shot happy).

No, we didn't get equal value for Butler and I probably would have preferred Richardson over Covington. But since this sordid affair started, my bar of what is acceptable has been lowered and now I'm just glad we can move the hell on.
