The team lacks talent, so it really doesn't matter what style they play. They simply won't win many games. If they really wanted to squeeze out as many wins as possible from this roster, they'd slow the pace way down. But that gets us to 35 or 36 wins at best. So I think they are going to go the Brooklyn route under Atkinson a couple years ago and just play a certain style, player personnel be damned. The really good teams are going to absolutely torch us because a higher pace gives them more opportunities to be on offense. Oh well.

We can't shoot a lick, but i thought the starters defense looked good. Everyone was switching and communicating with each other.

Coby White looks like he can shoot and plays pg. How many Lavine lovers are becoming Bulls fans this year? Lavine, Markenen, and White might have given this team just what it needs. Haha

The difference here is that the Brooklyn/Atkinson method was built around the strengths of their personnel. They had the athletes, ball-handlers, and theoretical shooters -- albeit not uber talented -- to employ that type of game. Saunders is playing copycat instead of building a gameplan around the strengths of this team. This roster is not made to shoot a high volume of threes. That in itself is going to cost the Wolves from being competitive against better teams.

I'm not sure I'm totally buying that. What I think the Nets did was develop their players. Dinwiddie was a terrible statistical basketball player before he arrived. It's not just the system. That's exactly what Robin Lopez said after the game tonight also when it came to Bud's system. The Nets were the team that told his brother to start jacking up 3's.
I thought this team wasn't talented so what is this system that is going to maximize the strengths of this team? The reality is if this Latest group of basketball folks can't select and develop players it will be the same wolves story we have seen for over 15 years regardless of the system. If this team can acquire and/or develop shooters we will be fortunate to be a grit and grind Memphis team...but that of course would require actually playing defense. Lol
Let's let this thing play out a while (maybe like 20 regular season games at least) and see what happens.

I saw that Satoransky has been named the starting guard next to Lavine. Doesn't surprise me it makes a lot of sense actually.

I think the problem is and has always been since Wiggins is on this team is. We still don't have an obvious upgrade putting him on the bench. I mean we could put in Okogie and then we are playing 4 on 5. Hopefully Layman and Graham or Culver step up and make the decision to bench Wiggins so much easier
Of course they do. If you play as badly as Wiggins has, you upgrade by getting him off the floor.
