Payne and martin has zero to negative trade value. We should be happy if someone offer a 2nd pick or turkey sandwiches for them.
Cousins might punch martin if he ever plays with him. Martin hunts for his shots constantly. He doesn't pass or play defense. You need to feature martin to get the most out of him. We saw first hand how a reduced role makes martin unplayable.
We saw Martin play a reduced role the last two years and he was still an efficient scorer. He hasn't been any good this year, but I think it's not all him. When he was getting minutes, he was playing with other shot-hunters in LaVine and Bazz. That whole unit was awful and selfish play from everyone was part of the problem.
I think of the Sacramento situation as the Minnesota situation we had just a year and a half ago with Love. Chasing the playoffs. Keep in mind Martin was pretty decent when the situation wasn't a rebuilding one. Cousins, Gay, Rondo and some other OK veterans. Perhaps Martin would play better with better players. I'm not saying he's the near All-Star he was in his first stint there, but I think he'd help more than McLemore or Belinelli.
We think of Martin now as absolute garbage from his play this year. I think we might be too harsh on the guy.
Cam, martin didn't play a reduced role last season. He was still pretty much the 1st first option until he got hurt. Even with wiggins's emergence, martin was still getting touches and a prominent role on offense. Heck, before this season started,we have Q and other posters suggesting that martin will still be the main perimeter threat with wiggins not averaging more than he did last year.
The fact is martin suck this year. He is 33. Should be on a decline going forward. He has never move the needle for any team. Mclemore is still very young and you sold him pretty well on your 1st post. I know were talking about divac and sacramento but even they wont think swapping mclemore for martin will do them any good.

I'm cool with you thinking it's a trade that SAC wouldn't do. That's totally fine. I just don't think it's as awful as you make it out to be. Either way, thanks for the discussion.

So you say Phoenix gets trash when I offer them Pek, Martin, Bazz and Payne for Chandler and Booker (and they offload Markieff to Detroit), but then you throw this out there as a good trade? Really? I at least had a quality young player going back to Phoenix for their young player. You're basically giving them Payne for Marco and McLemore because Martin would most definitely opt out and go somewhere else in the offseason which he's already going to do here.

Would there be any realistic way Rubio was traded? I am thinking of the teams trying to make the playoffs the Jazz would have a need for PG in the worst way.

He's definitely a risk, but his one summer league game this year was a 20/5/5 game which is promising. I think he was definitely going to trend in the right direction this year before the injury and he turns 21 this year I believe so he's still super young. That would be a riskier move, but one I'd be fine with because we can't really get any worse than we have been for the last 11 years right? Might as well risk it for the biscuit.

The only player I'm looking to trade is Martin, and unfortunately for us his trade value isn't the best this year. We should have traded him last year when his value was much better. I'm not sure what he will bring back. I listen to offers for Rubio and Bazz, but I don't pull the trigger unless it's in my favor. I'm building around Wiggins, Towns, and LaVine, so they are untouchable.

I would do this trade in a heartbeat. Not sure the Jazz do though. From what I've read they are unwilling to trade major assets this year and are still focused on rebuilding. They want a stop gap PG. That being said Rubio is around the same age as Gordon and Favors and would greatly improve their core.
