I certainly didn't mean the refs gave us the game. But after seeing games taken away on numerous occasions, it seemed odd that we had a game where we had nothing to complain about from the refs (well, except for that Barnes offensive foul on Wiggins that was not called!).

Sure seems like the best lineup we got.

Tonight's version of Bazz is who I think has a spot on this team moving forward. I didn't really see any of his obvious me-first moments where he just has the blinders on for everyone else.

Waited especially long to get KAT back in. That one delay really did almost cost us the game.

I thought not having Runio in earlier was at least as glaring with Chalmers hounding Lavine all over the place.

I was down on Sam for both. But Deing was really struggling against their big guys tonight while Zach was hanging in there against Chalmers. Zach was really passing the ball well tonight and had some really nice steals - 3 of them in only19 minutes. Still, I agree Sam waited too long to bring Ricky back.

Camden wrote:I hate how Jim Pete thinks Matt Barnes is so good. At the beginning of the game, he went out of his way to say, "Matt Barnes can play on my team any day." He just talked about Barnes putting on a "shooting clinic" before tonight's game. Shut up, Jimbo. He's not that good and he's an asshole.

Maybe a bit of hyperbole from Peterson. BUT, maybe some of it is legit. Consider...

Barnes has played for 6 teams since 2007. I don't know if he's ever been brought in to be the starter... but with different coaches/teammates/GMs/situations nearly every season... he ends up starting or at least playing a significant role on a winning team. Every season.

Every team has had a winning record since 2007. And he averages more playoff minutes than regular season minutes. That's not a fluke.

He really needs to be out there with guys that can pass because the one thing he does better than anyone else on the team is find open space, whether it's sprinting down the floor in transition or making timely basket cuts. When he's out there with Zach and Martin, he just doesn't get rewarded as much and all of his liabilities become more glaring.

The only other thing I'll say about Bazz last night is that because Memphis doesn't sport a potent wing lineup, Mitchell probably felt he could afford to have Bazz out there defensively. Normally we see Prince/Wiggins at crunch time because of defense.
