Fair points about Tyus, monster and abe. But I still disagree with playing Dunn over Tyus. I agree that because he is such a phenomenal athlete, Dunn may have more upside...but we don't know that for sure. I could easily argue that Tyus was the far better PG in their respective freshmen years, and I think most would say he is a better NBA PG right now than Dunn. I mentioned in another thread that the Wolves are close to .500 in games that Tyus plays more than 10 minutes, and in almost all those games Thibs played him out of necessity...a starter was out, or we were desperate for a 4th quarter comeback. And yet we still won a lot of those games, and Tyus' steady play was a big factor. We are in a playoff race, and playing Tyus ahead of Dunn might have meant 3-4 more wins...and maybe even more going forward. And in a close race like this year, that's the difference between the 8th spot and yet another lottery year...and I'm tired of lottery years.

I think Thibs should have recognized right away that Tyus was much more ready to back up Ricky than Dunn, and played Kris only out of necessity like he is playing Tyus. Dunn could have learned the NBA game more gradually either in limited minutes off the bench or even in the D League. In my opinion, not playing Tyus is one of 3-4 poor moves by Thibs that will cost us a playoff spot that is there for the taking.

Well, the bottom line is Tyus will be getting a very regular dose of minutes from here on out and Dunn will likely be playing more SG. All the things folks talked about earlier in the year about having more size at the 3 (Rush and Shabazz), allowing Wiggins to play the 2 and getting Tyus into the game with Dunn shifting over to the 2 is now going to happen.

Yep, all things that I have been advocating, which leaves me with some optimism about our playoff chances...although I recognize what a difficult March we have ahead of us. More likely, the rotation moves that Zach's injury force Thibs to make are a golden opportunity for the Wolves to prove me wrong :thumb: !

Well the Wolves just lost 2 games in a row where Tyus played. :) let's keep in mind that as well as Tyus has played he has played less than half as many minutes in 15 fewer games. What if he was getting those bigger minutes like Dunn would he get exposed? We don't know. It's likely he would to some extent.

Thibs has taken a long view on this season no doubt. It's possible he sees what's tyus can do already and has a certain faith or believe in what he can do already which sounds weird but I think you get what I mean. With Dunn there is less certainty about what he can do offensively but defensively wow the guy has exceeded my expectations especially the last month or so. With a possible strong PG draft coming up I would like to see Dunn continue to get some consistent game action to see what they have in him and have him develop. I think he has made some solid progress. It would be just the Wolves luck to have a top PG prospect fall to them when they already have a roster of PGs and Rubio is a guy they are likely looking to or willing to move. I could see room on this roster for a little while for a bigger PG if they were able to shoot.

Regardless like Q said we are likely going to see Tyus getting more chances with Lavine out. I would also hope the Wolves looks to add some young d-league SG type as well even though it's possible they never play.

Not trying to be a dick here but isn't no matter the outcome of the season (minus playoffs) you are going to blame thibs.

If we play well without zach and just miss the playoffs, you will blame thibs for not playing rush and/or tyus more early.

If they play bad thibs will be blamed for a bad season.

So in the end isn't it a lose lose from your perspective on Thibs
