Yeah all of those deals suck. I would trade with the Bulls, but I would want Portis or Mitoric in exchange.

I would swap Martin for Gibson. Gibson would be a good stop gap until we can find a long-term PF. McPherson brought it up in his article in Rolling Stones that we don't have enough guys in their primes (which he defined being from 27-31). We only have Pek, Rudez and NB who qualified for players in their prime age. Gibson at 30 is on the tail end of that, but I would much rather he be the backup PF and fill in starter for KG.

I think we have good roster balance now and so trading Martin for a PF doesn't help. I think Gibson is a good player but he's 30 and so if we did trade for a big I'd prefer John Henson. I'm fine with keeping Martin, but If we could get a younger two way player like McDaniels I'd probably make a trade.

So, let's trade a good player at a thin position for a lesser player at a deeper position... That'd make a lot of sense.

Or we could just allow Bjelica or even Payne to play that role for much cheaper. Yeah, let's go with that option.

This may sound strange coming from me, but I think his greatest value for us is to keep him on our roster. Unless he starts to become a malcontent.

I would rather go Bjelica over Gibson at this point. I just have a good feeling about Portis and the Bulls have enough options they might trade him. The guy has been rebounding like crazy in his first 2 games this preseason. He and Town could form a tough front line for years.

Martin = Gibson. So far Martin has proven to be no better than a high level scorer on bad to mediocre teams and an ok bench scorer for OKC. Gibson has proven to be a solid two way player on very good teams. I also am fine with a wing rotation of Lavine/Wiggins/Bazz if it means we add another good defender that this team desperately needs. Gibson is a better player than NB and Payne. I'm not going to stop the acquisition of a good player to make sure we have playing time for NB and Payne. They haven't proven anything to deserve that treatment. You could also get NB playing time at the 3 with Gibson and Towns in the frontcourt protecting him defensively. I am not advocating for trading Martin, but if we do I want someone back who I know can play. KG/Gibson/Towns/Dieng could be a good enough defensive frontcourt to help us be a respectable defense even with defensive holes all over the rest of the roster.

I like Gibson a ton and he would improve defense but if you add him and play KG there is not many minutes left at PF and if you trade Martin it might as well be for a development type/draft pick. Don't worry though I don't think the Bulls would do that trade anyway. I don't think the Bulls would have any interest in giving up a young player like Portis or mirotic either. Both are talented and both fit Fred's style of play.

Also I said the Wolves got more for Mo than Lowe's suggested trades I meant Brewer I always get confused on the returns of those two trades for some reason.

I don't know if we need to move Martin but I won't be shocked if a couple vets get moved. It will be when the season is rolling along and teams have injuries etc. Martin may want to stay and be a bench guy Flip has said they have talked about that so who knows.

The Wolves should keep Martin and I'm convinced they will. He can shoot and he's a good teammate with a very reasonable contract.
