If Sam gets to a point where he thinks KG needs to tone it down, I'm sure he'll tell him. And I think KG respects him enough to honor his request. For now, KG's intensity is probably a good thing for the development of these young guys and the team's culture.

I agree with this take. In Boston, Allen was another vet superstar going to that team. Here KG accomplishments stand apart. Hard ass coaches are always better for Young teams. That was why Mitchell was really successful in his Early Toronto years. It takes a different kind of approach as those players mature though. I think Mitchell too has likely learned a bit from that whole experience. I almost think with Flip out this team is a bit more interesting, only because this is a pure developmental year. But I could actually see Sam bringing this team to the overachieving side just through instilling passion and effort, more so than Flip influencing system basketball and decision making.
