We can lament the missed free throws by Wiggins and Rubio, but god damn, we really suck at getting big stops in crunch time. They just scored at will on us and it's no different in a lot of these other 4th quarter collapses.

But hey, I'll take the win. Our offense has turned a major corner since Gorgui took KG's place in the starting lineup and Zach has been moved to (almost) a full-time SG.

I haven't done the research, but we might just be a top 5 or 6 offense over our last 10 games or so. That's just crazy.

That's not possible... Our point guard is an offensive liability and has no business being on the court. How could he orchestrate an offense to such high production as of late?

What did you think of Sam's decision to to pull gorgui for shabazz. I understand they went small but I don't think crowder is going to dominate our bigs late

Tommy Heinsohn used to be relevant back in the 80s when he was doing CBS games with Dick Stockton. Now he's nothing but a caricature of himself. Just an awful, awful color guy. Folks here may not always agree with J-Pete's takes, but we are lucky to have him.

Agreed. Although I never know he was a relevant commentator back in the '80s...

Oh, you remember those Celtic/Laker games on Sunday afternoons on CBS and Tommy blatantly favoring the Celts. He was only relevant because those were the only national games we could ever see back then! Now I can go on NBA broadband and pick which team's broadcast duo I want to hear!

I'm not Porkchop, or his Mini-Me, but I don't think anybody is saying Rubio cannot lead a successful offense, but that he is a liability late in close games, which translates to pretty much all playoff games.

I get the idea, but Shabazz is so clueless defensively. Why not Prince? It can't possibly be because of that little chin injury. Perhaps it was one of Sam's developmental ploys with Shabazz, but he is not a guy you want on the floor unless your goal is to create a mismatch in the other direction.

They largely have set rotations. Even if Tyus is playing well... if Rubio is used to come back in at a certain time... you stick to it. NBA players are creatures of habit. And you cater to the team's better players.

Wolves played well. And awful at times. But a good win against a solid club.

The thing is... the Celtics had a chance. I. Thomas seemed to be wide open at the end waiting for that pass from Marcus Smart that never came. Dumb move by the young player...

Despite the many boneheaded plays in the last 5 minutes, this was a refreshing win. Lavine back at the 2, and watching him spot up and make open corner three pointers almost brought a tear to my eye. Also despite that horrible start where we got outscored 17-0, it was really nice to see Tyus do some good things and gain some confidence. He needs to play in this role the rest of the year, even if it means some rough stretches.

All 5 starters with 15 points or more is awesome. And Bazz with 13 off the bench. Some terrible defense at times and those last 5 minutes we played dumber than a high school team, but at the end of the day we beat a team playing pretty good basketball and the young guys got it done.

Hate to beat a dead horse yet again but here it is, one final observation on the negative side: It was clear as day in the last 5 minutes of this game which team was well coached and which wasn't. We ran around like chickens with our heads cut off. Bazz took an ill-advised shot (yeah it was a bunny but all you need to do is run clock there and get fouled) and lost his guy on the 3-point line. Instead of calling a timeout and advancing the ball we let Lavine dribble it up against a double (maybe triple?) team. Kat barely touched it (this has become an alarming trend at the end of games). Of course you can use the excuse that the team is young and hasn't been in this position often, which they haven't, but still, there was no rhyme or reason to what we were doing out there.

We need to find a Brad Stevens. A coach who gets the best out of his players. Instead we have a coach who is screaming in Kat's face in the last minute of the game for reasons unknown. I'm reading into this, but the look on Kat's face said to me "fuck you man, I'm not even touching the ball."

Anyway, good win, hopefully we stick to these rotations the rest of the year.

Speaking of coaching...

That play Boston called... with the first pass basically being a dupe to get the three point bucket looked awesome. But was it because Muhammad is so clueless defensively?

And on that point... Did Stevens use it BECAUSE he knows Muhammad is clueless defensively?

You weren't reading too much into KAT's face. You can also see it on Zach's face and Ricky's.
