Good stint by Dieng tonight. Too bad he got hurt. He is eventually going to be an absolute menace defensively. He's got a bit of Ben Wallace in him in that he has a knack for getting both steals and blocks.

The only knock I have against him is his court awareness right now. But his raw skills are really something, I think he was a really great draft at that spot if he can hone those skills.

Agree Doper. He needs more time on task and it may take another year or two of seasoning, but there is no question that he is eventually our backup Center and he may even bump Turiaf out of the rotation by next season.

Agree with the both of you. I like the turiaf signing(flips best signing). Turiaf is a vet that can take dieng under his wing, both have similar game but dieng has a lot more talent. If he can learn from turiaf and develop the awareness and savvy of ronny, combine with his raw skills, dieng would be a great backup center and could be a legit 3rd big behind pek and love down the line.

With 2:00 minutes left in the 1st quarter, Gorgui and Luc entered the game with the Wolves up 10, 32-22. When Turiaf came in for the injured Dieng a little over 8 minutes later, the Wolves defense had allowed only 9 points in that stretch and were up 56-31. They never had a bigger lead and in fact allowed the Lakers to hang around the rest of the way.

I loved that front line with Dieng at C, Love at PF, and Mbah Moute at SF. Just an outstanding unit defensively, with Love being able to provide the offensive punch. I'd like to see that unit play together a bit more in the future.

I missed tonight 's game. Good news about the way Dieng played. What was his injury and how bad?
