I had no problem with Pek and Turiaf getting minutes before Dieng, but one of them has been on the shelf for most of the season, and Adleman plugged DC into the spot.

actually Love was thrust into that 5 spot. And it was working really well for a while, before Love got too worn down

Maybe. The coach probably didn't think he had that much margin for error. Or, that the bench would play this poorly for this long.

I don't have much of a problem with Shabazz on the pine. I just think he's a tweener who causes as many problems as solutions.

But I don't understand Dieng. The guy offers at least one thing that the team sorely lacks... so it baffles me that he still didn't get more run if for that alone.

Also about Shabazz--I haven't seen people mention this, but a big problem is that he operates almost exclusively from the left block. That is also Love's favorite spot, so he's not a great fit on the court with Love. Adelman seems aware of that and usually doesn't have both on the court too much.

That is a great point that I haven't considered, kms, and that I haven't seen mentioned. Love has developed an extraordinary game from the left block, and that is also where Muhammad operates from most effectively. I don't know why Love is more comfortable on the left block than the right, but he is. I am a big Shabazz supporter and Adelman detractor, but you make a valid point as to why Rick doesn't play them together. A good reason that Shabazz should perhaps not be a starter.

to be fair, the guys ahead of deing, Pek and Turiaf, were playing really good

I was referring specifically to when those guys weren't available. I have to think there are only a handful of games where both Turiaf and Pekovic played together, right?

Are you kidding????

Love was already on the floor! It was DC getting minutes in front of Dieng, and getting owned offensively and defensively. There was simply no excuse for undersizing our team on a nightly basis.
