Yes, Monster. At least we now have a pick in 2027, albeit likely a low 2nd round pick.
Well, even if Tyus didn’t mind being squeezed between Conley and Dilly, we didn’t have the money to sign him anyway. We’re getting a good sense now of who we’ll be able to sign with the roughly $5.5M we can pay a player without hitting the 2nd apron.Q-is-here wrote: ↑Mon Jun 30, 2025 7:53 pmSigh.kekgeek wrote: ↑Mon Jun 30, 2025 7:28 pm Free agent guard Tyus Jones has agreed to a one-year, $7 million deal with the Orlando Magic, sources tell ESPN. I'll add that while it's not a huge difference in salary I don't think I would have wanted to trade Donte to keep NAW at that price. Donte is simply a higher end player for less money. Only issue with him is his injury history.Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 30, 2025 8:04 pmYes, Monster. At least we now have a pick in 2027, albeit likely a low 2nd round pick.
Being a backup PG and playing with Bane might have been a factor. Magic could be pretty good this year.Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 30, 2025 8:06 pmWell, even if Tyus didn’t mind being squeezed between Conley and Dilly, we didn’t have the money to sign him anyway. Better regular season player, worse playoff player. I'm not really a fan of Donte anymore because of that, but frankly, this team isn't making a WCF run this year as currently constructed. It's a transition year where the old vets raise the floor, but also lower the ceiling, while at the same time we start getting the "second window" guys up to speed.Monster wrote: ↑Mon Jun 30, 2025 8:08 pmI'll add that while it's not a huge difference in salary I don't think I would have wanted to trade Donte to keep NAW at that price. Has someone removed the 2024 playoffs from your mind? Blink twice if you need help!Q-is-here wrote: ↑Mon Jun 30, 2025 8:12 pmBetter regular season player, worse playoff player. I've posted these stats before, but they are eye-opening and deserve an encore since I'm not sure I've ever seen anything like this before.Monster wrote: ↑Mon Jun 30, 2025 8:45 pmHas someone removed the 2024 playoffs from your mind?
