SL Game 1 - Pels at Wolves GDT

Dilly has to connect on that lob pass to Beringer. He was off target again.

His jump shot has always just looked pretty awkward to me. Too jerky. A little too quick. He releases the ball too late. He's got this weird drift in midair. I mean, he can make it, but I really wish he would actually slow down a bit at times.
Actually, that might be it with him. He's so quick, but it's like he doesn't really slow down and move more smoothly at key times. If he did that while dribbling, he could probably lull guys to sleep a bit better before his quick bursts. Even when he's dribbling the ball slowly (for him), it's still really quick. He should watch more Kyrie clips and try to mimic how Kyrie can handle super quick, but he often sets it up by slowing down to a more normal pace. And if he were just able to slow down his shot motion just a bit and smooth it out by bending those knees and pushing off a little more slowly, he'd probably increase his consistency, and as long as he released the ball more on the way up instead of at the apex (where he shoots now), he could probably still get that shot off quickly but have so much more consistency and control.

Shannon making some nice passes out there. He was a limited play maker for others in college, so good to see him being able to create some good looks for others here.

TJ looks real good adhering to what the offense asks of him. He's looking for the open guy instead of trying to dunk on everyone.
Every shot Rob takes looks like a half court heave.
This bench sucks. I really do hope they sign the hungriest guy outta summer league to a two way or roster spot.
If Clark gotta work on something it's giving his jumper of any kind some sort of reliability. I don't want him to be our Thabo Sefolosha or Andre Roberson

Has anyone noticed that Jaylen Clark kinda looks like and has the same mannerisms as jimmy butler? Just got that vibe when seeing him today and his game is a lot like very early Jimmy Butler. There’s no way he becomes as good obviously, but he kinda reminds me of a poor man’s JB. Just a tough dude. Mentally tough, defense first, but maybe some decent offense

100%. He can bring the D NAW brought, but he'll need to bring some shooting too or it will seriously limit his usefulness. That's the thing with him and TSJ. They both bring some good stuff to the table. But they'll need to add that consistent shooting to become more versatile. What made NAW great was that he could defend, handle the ball, pass a bit, and shoot. Defense was his best attribute, and he probably wasn't even as good as Clark (though that's a really high bar). But being able to do those other things made it possible to leave him on the floor as a kind of Swiss Army knife. I'm really hoping that Clark and/or TSJ can do that too.WildWolf2813 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 10, 2025 3:54 pm TJ looks real good adhering to what the offense asks of him. I think he's quicker than Jimmy, but yeah, he's got the same knack for the ball and fearlessness when playing D. I'm not sure he quite has the "F.U." attitude Jimmy played with, and that might be ok, as long as he can develop more of an offensive game.D-Loser25 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 10, 2025 3:59 pm Has anyone noticed that Jaylen Clark kinda looks like and has the same mannerisms as jimmy butler?
