I don't know if these qualify, but here goes....

1. Hooray for Sam Presti. After not making the obvious Holford/Blake trade, and then making that horrible Diallo trade two weeks early for no apparent reason, he got one right. $3.4m of cap room and a pick. Good work.

2. I don't know the circumstance. Maybe it was an actual accident. But there are people in this country who thinks it's funny to hit bicyclists. And if that was the case with Shawn Bradley, I hope that person gets the chair.

They really believe in James Wiseman," said Ramona Shelburne on The Hoop Collective Podcast. "They think he's going to become a future All-Star. They think he's going to be a future pillar of the franchise. "I checked... there was a storyline out there that LaMelo Ball thought they were going to pick him at two. Everything I've been told is that that's a miscommunication or something was wrong there." "As far as I know, they were laser focused [on Wiseman]," replied Brian Windhorst. "A very good source told me they would have picked James Wiseman No. 1 if they had the pick. He was the highest on their board. They never wavered on that. If Minnesota would have taken Wiseman one, the Warriors would have taken Anthony Edwards at No. 2.

Read this bit this morning and thought it was interesting. Sounds like LaMelo Ball wasn't in the mix for Golden State at No. 2.

Bey has been the model of consistency for a rookie, averaging 10.5 points and 4.4 rebounds while shooting 40 percent from long range.

It's his shooting that has gotten the most attention, as Bey leads all rookies in 3-pointers made and is 5th in percentage overall even though he shoots far more of them than anyone ahead of him on the list.

If the 2020 Draft were held again today, Bey would certainly go a lot higher than the 19th pick, as he has proven himself to be at least an effective 3-and-D wing in the NBA and potentially much more.

Bey dropped to 6th on the Kia Rookie Ladder before his big performance in Toronto, but is still on his way to making history from the 3-point line.

After last night's 28 point, 12 rebound performance in which he nailed 6-of-10 from 3-point range, Saddiq Bey has now made 88 3-point shots in his first 40 games, which is 5th most in the history of the NBA.

This is even more impressive when you consider that Bey is not a high usage player, doesn't take a ton of shots and is mostly doing this in a complementary role.

I haven't seen it mentioned here yet, but LaMelo Ball is expected to miss the rest of the season with a fracture to his right wrist. He's played in 41 games to date with 21 starts. If he indeed does miss the rest of the season I can't imagine him winning rookie of the year honors despite his impressive first half. You don't get to win seasonal awards by missing half of the year.

So, with that said, would Minnesota's very own Anthony Edwards have a decent chance of stealing/earning rookie of the year if he can avoid the injury bug and continues his recent level of promising play? I think he's got a great shot now.

Started a thread on it.

The Sixers are 6-1 since Embiid went down. Imagine what KAT could do with that team.

Weird. A well-built team with multiple stars and supporting pieces, as well as good coaching, is able to keep the ship afloat when players inevitably miss games due to injuries. You're exactly right here, Lip. Imagine what KAT could do with that team. You have to wonder if he'd garner similar MVP chatter like Embiid has this season. Unfortunately, that's not a situation that Towns has ever had thus far in Minnesota. Hopefully, that changes in the near future.
