I'm envious of the LA market. One good draft pick (Russell), one free agent signing (LMA or Love), and two players back from injury (Kobe, Randle), they are right back in the mix for the playoffs in the West. It's just so much easier in the NBA for premier market teams. Why can't the Knicks ever get it right? You only need your front office to be semi-competent. That's probably been the problem.

I can't think of many if any off the top of my head. I think Porzingis is a good fit for Phil's system. I bet he sees a young Pau. It will take time, but drafting for the next season is always a recipe for disaster when making a top 5 lottery pick. Knick fans need to realize that a team as crappy as they are won't be rebuilt over night. Phil got Porzingis and Grant which I thought was a pretty good haul for him.
I don't know if Porzingis is going to take as long as some people say. They say he is skinny and yeah that's a problem but how many starters in the league are over 7' tall much less a PF he is really long that's gonna help him and he is skilled. It's clear he is serious about the game and his English is really good that's a big help. Knicks fans boo just cause that's what they are supposed to do. That kid was so fake taking his pic so he could share his likely fake outrage on social media. Whatevs it's too bad those type of Knick fans are the ones you see I know there are so many really good Knicks fans out there that likely cringe at all that.

UNLV forward Christian Wood agreed to a free agent deal with the Rockets.
Wood still needs to put on some muscle, but his 6'11 frame with a 7'3 wingspan give him a nice ceiling at power forward. His rebounding rate saw a major increase during his sophomore season, pulling down 10.0 boards per game to go with his 15.7 points and 2.7 blocks per game. Also, after he wasn't drafted on Thursday night, Wood took to Twitter to say, "I have a chip on my shoulder and I'm using it on every [expletive deleted] I go against." The tweet was deleted this morning.

Agree. I said after the draft lottery that the big winner was the lakers. Move up from 5 to 2. They have money to spend this off season for a max guy. Even more money next season for another max guy and more. Add randle, clarkson and russel and they are in for a quick rebuild. The clippers wont be the top team in la for long.

Knicks fans are the worst. They had pretty similar reaction when Knicks picked Gallo instead of Joe Alexander that fans wanted. Afterwards it seems that Knicks GM did much better job than fans would have done. :D

Sure, if you are expecting him to be Jason Kidd you are probably going to be disappointed. I'm looking at him for what he should be - a good backup point guard who can keep the ship afloat if the #1 guys goes down. What's wrong with that?
Also agree with LST - great job and patience by Flip to get the right deal. Felton would have been a terrible burden.
I agree this. I'm happy even if Jones just becomes good backup or average starter at point guard position. It is not so common that late first round picks will become even rotation level players. Just by looking last five drafts it looks like only Jimmy Butler, Gobert and Reggie Jackson seems to be better than average starters from 24th pick or later 1st round picks. Napier, Andre Robertson, Hardaway, Miles Plumlee, Ezeli, Wroten, Cory Joseph and Norris Cole are currently in playing rotation. That is just 10 player of 35 possible late 1st round picks contributing.

I would have liked a flier on him. He must have been a real idiot during the pre-draft process. Talent wise I would rather have them then Nance at 27. That seemed like one of the worst reaches in the draft. If I was his agent I would be begging to play with the Cavs. Their whole roster is FA and if he shows anything he could get signed.

Yeah Mikkeman, of course a player picked #24 is going to have some warts. I was reading today about the areas Towns needs to improve, and he's the consensus best in the draft! Tyus is just what we needed to complete the best draft in our history. A winner who should be able to contribute to a contender in this league. I love the pick.

Cool - I'm trying to be realistic and not wear my homer glasses. I don't see Jones playing much on a contender and I don't think the Bulls or Cavs did either or they would have drafted and kept him since both need backup PG's. My expectations is he would come in and be a game manager and not turn the ball over. Only problem with that is think he will be a turnstile on defense. My hope is he can show the ability to get to the line at a similar rate as he did in college. That will be key for him in having an NBA career in my opinion. I would say his ceiling is Luke Ridnour.

I rate him higher than you do, and I don't think what the Bulls or Cavs did is relevant. It will be fun to see how he develops over the course of the next 2 years. Really looking forward to seeing him in summer league.
