Draymond Green played 27 minutes tonight and didn't take a shot. First, that's really strange, and 2nd, can he teach Ant how to do that?

What a strange comparison. The last three years Embiid has played more games than Towns. The Sixers are a more talented team and Embiid was in the running for MVP this year. How can one assume that Towns would bring more to the table on a first place team when the rival player has been mvp worthy . On top of that , in head to head situations Embiid has clearly been the better player. I hate stating that becuz Embiid is a tool bag but that's a fact. Imaging that Towns would make more of a difference on a first place team is quite obvious. But no more of a difference than the guy that's in MVP discussions.

Well you miss all the shots you don't take, or If your Ricky you miss all the shots you do take. Which is worse? Hahaha

That team plays great defense

It's not the first time.

Philadelphia finished the 2018 season on an 8-game winning streak without Embiid.

The Minnesota Timberwolves haven't won more than 5 in a row since 2004.

Who said KAT would bring more to the table than Embiid? I didn't say that. But I think it's fair to say that a team good enough to go 6-1 without their star big would do well with KAT. The point was that Embiid plays on a good, well coached team. If he played for the Wolves this season do you really believe the Wolves would be in contention for a playoff spot? Embiid's better than KAT in my view. But there's less of a gap between them than some believe.

A team that goes 6-1 without their star player would do better having Jordan too.
Of Course He wouldn't do as well here but that's not about coaching. He plays with 3-4 players that are better than anyone currently on this team. If we want to improve talent from within and draft well while not over spending on FAs than we can't look towards other teams that do and wonder why we don't measure up. On top of that we can't justify 17 mil players that are brought here for vet leadership when we're 5 years away from competing . Teams with championship aspirations make moves like that . ( Clippers and Rondo) for far less money.
We should be looking towards our own young players to be leaders going forward. Leadership needs to come from the best players on the team. If championship teams from the past have shown us anything.

Pork - I don't think we disagree. Coaching is a factor, but I agree it has far more to do with the caliber of the players. I absolutely agree with you on how you build a championship team. I think you nailed it with your Rubio example of what NOT to do. Speaking of Michael Jordan, note that the Bulls finished under .500 in his first three seasons. Even the great MJ needed talent around him for team success.

There's been a lot of discussion here lately concerning Jarrett Culver, but I wanted to highlight a recent performance from a player the Wolves should have come away with in the 2019 NBA Draft in Tyler Herro.

He's oddly been struggling with his outside shot this year, but Thursday night he showed what kind of potential he has with his 29 points (9-19 FG, 5-9 3P, 6-6 FT), 8 assists (2 turnovers), and 4 rebounds in 35 minutes. I've linked a video to his highlights below.

I also thought it was extremely smart of the Heat to not include Herro as well as Duncan Robinson in any trade deadline deal. Those two are very important to what Miami does in the present as well as what they will do in the future. Pat Riley said it best the other day.

"You can't let go of those two assets, you can't, because they could become truly great," Riley said. "They're very, very good players right now, and I think they're probably a year or two away from making what their early max could be from a production standpoint."

"So I'd hate to have that come back at us if we were to do something and try to move them. But we're not going to. So from that standpoint, what happened today is you're going to see Duncan, you're going to see Tyler."

The scouts who were high on Patrick Williams seem to have been proven right. He's got a sweet old man game.
