It's so hard to tell. Like would the kobe/shaq lakers beat the Warriors. Nobody could stop shaq but could the Lakers stop the Warriors idk.

I still disagree. The spurs took the air out of the ball like thibs teams like to do and they beat the Rockets and were crushing the Warriors before kawhi got hurt.
Also warriors are also so good on defense, we are talking about one of the best teams of all time
GS is dominant and Wolves will need four legit stars (guys that are plus on both sides of the ball) to compete for a title. We have one in KAT and some hopefuls. I really want to nail this draft and perhaps trade up if we need to to nab one of the top wings. I also would like the team to be more aggressive in accumulating more picks--paying cash or taking on a contract.
I think the idea of becoming as good as the Warriors is delusional. It's a once-in-a-generation team. Durant has made them un-guardable.
Houston's offense was solved once you realize that you need to put a small guy on Ryan Anderson, switch almost everything on the perimeter, and then give them a huge cushion once inside the arc and wall up in the paint. Unfortunately, Thibs, the supposed defensive genius never tried any of these strategies against them. It took Pop one playoff game to figure it out.
It would certainly be interesting to see how old school teams would play the Warriors. They all played significantly better defense than this year's Cavs team and the games were much slower in pace. Would Jordan and Pippen be able to hold Steph and KD in check and score enough themselves (I think they could)? Would putting a dominant big man like Shaq against them just crush them on defense and get all of them in foul trouble? Draymond is good, but he's not even close to being able to even be an inconvienience to Shaq and forget about Zaza and Javale.
On this years finals I don't feel bad for Lebron or the Cavs. Their defense is terrible and frankly should have been punished much more in previous rounds, but their joke of a conference couldn't capatalize on it. Nobody on Cleveland is playing good defense including Lebron. They just keep getting beat by easy plays that could be stopped with an ounce of hustle and giving a shit defensively for 48 minutes. They have legitimately no shot to win even a game in this series if they keep giving up as many open shots at the rim from backdoor cuts and general hustle plays from the Warriors.

The Warriors are good on defense, but if I'm winning games 125-110, that 110 doesn't even look that bad defensively.
Greg Anthony even said it about the Wolves, you have to coach defense in smaller segments than over 48 minutes. IMO, I think guys like Wiggins and Towns tune Thibs out at times because they see teams like the Warriors and Rockets winning shootouts while Thibs is trying to win games 95-90. When you're seeing teams pour on points the way they do, you feel like you have to do the same thing, defense be damned, and we all know offense isn't Thibs' calling card.
Superteams have ruined this league. Worst regular season, playoffs, and now finals i have ever watched. There was not even a chance anything else would have happened. Durant going to golden state may very well be worse than lebron going to the heat with the big 3. I cant stand watching blowout after blowout. Damn curry was sleeping on the sidelines in the finals.if that doesnt tell you all you need to know i dont know what does. I am so disappointed in the nba. Really not looking forward to another 5 or so years of this crap every season. I want to see close games, clutch shots, and and most of all competitive games. Competetion brings out the best of the greats. We dont get to see that cause the greats want to play with the greats instead of against them. I have never been so down on the nba.

Why didn't Pop figure it out during the regular season against Houston? He got to play them 4 games to our 3. Also if you don't think Thib's teams don't switch everything on the perimeter and try to stop layups and 3's like virtually every other team I don't know if you have been watching Wolves basketball games. His tendency to play Belly at the 4 more than Gorgui before Belly went suggests he knows exactly what to do.

I don't think anybody on this board expects we'll be as good as the Warriors are now. Realistically, the Warriors will be heavy favorites for at least the next 3 years as long as they keep their Amazing Four Core and will be title contenders until injuries or old age catches up with them. Boston, Philly and Utah all could potentially field four stars down the road and we need to keep up. We just cannot be content with our so-called core. We need to improve our core. Hopefully, we add a future all-star in this draft. I know I'm stating the obvious, but there are still articles suggesting we trade away our pick for a veteran to help us make the playoffs. That is the kind of thinking I oppose.
I don't think Klay stays when his deal is up in 2 years. Once you have multiple titles, what's the point of staying and being 3rd fiddle? I could see Draymond staying, but not Klay. And their quality depth like Livingston and Igoudala are about to start leaving because they won't have the cap space. Honestly I'm not sure how they keep the big 4 after this year. Durant has to fit in their cap space which involves renouncing a lot of guys who you then also have to fit in cap space at that point after renouncing their rights. And while KD said he'd take a discount I don't think that's gonna be like 10 million in salary for a year or two. I think he's still gonna want 20+. So I think they have two more years maybe of unstoppable power and then they become beatable again. That's good for us because that's right when our guys hit their prime playing years. Of course all their role guys could take minimum deals to keep the band together, but you just can't do anything about that.
