This is why we can't stand pat. There is no future in that.
It is 100% scary what they've accomplished, and they can string this along for a very long time. Of course you can't stand pat, but, Cool, isn't that exactly how OKC accumulated this treasure trove? Teams didn't want to stand pat, were impatient, and made stupid moves when they weren't there yet. The Wolves made their big move with Gobert. Now TC has to be very calculated on how he utilizes the limited remaining assets. Honestly, I'm unsure how to feel about his decision making moving forward after this past off-season.
Traded 2 firsts to go get Dillingham who is clearly not ready, and physically outmatched.
If the Detroit pick did not convey, then I would say that the KAT trade was a complete disaster instead of just a disaster after seeing what Bridges and Bane got in return.
Now he wants to ship off more assets for an older player in KD who he will never be able to flip for equal or more value than he sends out?
He is like the anti-Presti.
Our superstar is young 23(maybe he's 24 now, idk?) But he is going about this all wrong in my opinion. Get the guy some more damn people to grow with; not guys to watch crawl across the finish line.

I wish the Wolves would have followed the OKC blueprint. We had Ant, Jaden, KAT and Naz before the incredibly stupid DLO trade. The pick we gave up for DLO's bloated salary cost us a juicy pick that could have added Franz Wagner or Trey Murphy or Sengun. Then TC has burned all our draft capital for Rudy and Dilly and now there are rumors those two could be headed for a soon to be 37 year old who has been underwhelming in his last two stints and has a history of injuries.

Ahhhhh, you actually made me laugh. You did get me. Yes, we have Ant. KAT should've gotten us something more than thrown around vets and a "hopefully it conveys" pick.

Well said, Future! Using the familiar chess/checkers metaphor — Presti is the chess player; TC is not. To be fair, I think TC is a very good checkers player.

I agree. The worst thing we can do is make a huge panic move based on a sense that we have to strike now to win a championship before it’s too late. It’s already too late. OKC is already there. The Rockets are almost there and the Spurs aren’t far behind. Our saving grace is that we have a talented young core of Ant, Jaden and Naz along with recently added young talent in TSJ, Dilly and Clark. Ant and Jaden have 4 years left on their respective contracts. We also have two nice picks this year and our own (or Utah’s) 1st next year.
TC talks about the importance of patience. He needs to practice his preachings. Amazingly, in spite of the Gobert deal, we’re well positioned right now to retool slightly for the long haul without taking multiple steps back in the short run. Maybe we’ll need to take a half or full step back next season to gain a couple steps the following season. The keys now are to make really smart picks this summer, trade Randle for the best asset package we can get and start integrating TSJ, Dilly and Clark into the rotation next season.
