This popped into my mind when I heard about the Durant deal. Bridges and/or Cam Johnson and picks for Towns could be where this heads.
KAT is a four 1st-round player. He's a perennial all-star and still in the middle of his prime years. You don't sell KAT for Bridges, two firsts and a bunch of 2nds. Second round picks are the currency for players like DLO, Wiseman, etc. Unfortunately for the Wolves, 2nd-round picks are probably the main currency for Rudy Gobert right now.
Lip, Bridges is a 3 first round pick player and I hypothesized KAT for Bridges and two firsts, so that is 5 first round picks plus Cam Johnson. Bridges just posted an efficient 45 point game vs Miami while playing stellar defense and being the main distributor. If Bridges keeps this up, we couldn't get Bridges straight up for KAT as Bridges is an elite two way player and KAT still is a defensive liability. Also, KAT has missed a lot of games in the past few years while Bridges has missed almost no games. If we are lucky we might be able to snag four firsts from a team that is loaded with firsts such as Knicks (though most are lottery protected) or OKC. I think I'd rather get a stud two way player like Bridges or a poor man's Bridges in Anunoby plus a few firsts.

Utah loses. Not unexpected, but still nice to get a 2-game buffer between us and the play-in cutoff.

Bridges would get more in a trade than KAT. It's not even debatable to be honest.

I highly, highly doubt that.

Yeah, KAT easily fetches more than Bridges

It's possible that a team might offer the same or more unprotected firsts for Bridges but those teams are likely on the cusp of being a finals team and not offering high quality firsts whereas a team after Towns is likely steps below that and looking for a shakeup so their picks would be more valued.

Great night for the wolves. About to be back to the 6 seed

The Los Angeles Timberlakes beat the New Orleans Pelicans by 18 tonight.
Firstly, that means Minnesota jumps back into the sixth-seed, momentarily.
Secondly, Los Angeles is 2.0 games back of a play-in spot and 3.5 back of Minnesota. Just goes to show how close everyone still is in the Western Conference.
Roughly 20 regular season games left for everybody. Buckle up.

Not even debatable? I'm pretty sure virtually everyone here would debate you on that lol.

If Bridges has that much value the Nets fleeced the Suns for Durant on a massive level.
