I'd offer Middleton, DJ Wilson, Thon Maker, Divencenzo, and Sterling Brown. And then take on a bad contract and add a couple #1 picks. Giannis / Davis / Brogdon / Bledsoe / Lopez = Eastern Conference Champions
Then again, the Bucks are leading the East with what they have with supporting depth and draft picks for the future. Middleton is a floor stretcher and ball-handler to complement Giannis. Then there's the issue of AD's durability or lack thereof. I don't know. Maybe the Bucks should take a pass.
Well they are good, no doubt. But if you've got Giannis and Davis you are almost certain to contend for the next 5 years regardless who you line up next to them. And of course those two would also act as a magnet for another star. I'm not saying they should do it, just that it's worth making the call.
I hear you, Cool. It would be a close call for me. I was just making the case against the deal you suggested. But I could see myself making the deal if I were the Bucks' PBO. If I were the Pelicans, I'd take the deal with the Lakers.
Sorry Cool but I don't think that Bucks package is gonna get it done if the Lakers are basically offering everything.
I agree with you Monster, it's not as much as the Lakers package if they are going to give up everything. But the Bucks package includes an all star whereas the Lakers does not. If the Bucks added Brogdon, in my opinion that's two all star level players. I mean there is a reason Milwaukee is 39-13. They have a lot of good assets that no one knows about. But I bet the Pelicans do.
I was with you until you said Brogdon was an All-Star.
I jinxed it. This morning I was reading Cool's post and was thinking oh man Cam and Cool both like Brogdon. Yeah something for them to agree on. lol I looked up his stats the efficiency is insane and it's not a fluke he has been moving this direction and could be a 50-40-90 guy. I'd like to hear some talk about how good he is and how good he could be.
Also I liked the idea put forward but Pork that the Bucks shouldn't go after AD with all those assets/players. It's something to think about.
Yeah, I'm actually a big Brogdon guy. If you recall, when the Heat trade rumors were swirling around Jimmy Butler, I said I'd rather have Malcolm Brogdon over Josh Richardson. You can do a lot of different things with him and he's affective on both ends of the floor.
With all that said, I don't think he has an All-Star ceiling nor do I think he's at that level now. The quality of the league has risen and so should how we talk about guys in the league. There are legitimate studs MISSING the All-Star team -- Rudy Gobert, for instance. I'm no where close to putting Brogdon on that same level.
Brogdon doesn't fit here. He fits perfectly next to Giannis and Middleton where he can take a secondary offensive role. We don't have the offensive playmakers that let him just stick to his strengths.

I share your frustration, however, two first-round draft picks, two second-rounders, Landry Shamet, Mike Muscala, and Wilson Chandler is far from spare parts or a bargain.

One of the picks is unprotected too, though Tobias Harris is a legitimate player.

Eh, for the best player on a current playoff team (if the season ended today) that doesnt seem too bad to me. For a Wolves fan point of view, we never get the picks right anyway so I'd taken a proven talent over picks personally

It might not be too long before one of those first round picks -- 2021 unprotected Miami Heat draft pick -- is the best player in this trade. Shamet is also a pretty intriguing player in this. Maybe you're right, but this deal looks good for both sides.
The Philly/Clippers trade is interesting to say the least. The most pervasive narrative out there is that the Clippers aren't really interested in making the playoffs as an 8th seed (exactly where I was with the Wolves last season), and instead want to stockpile picks and clear cap space to build for the future. Philly on the other hand is going all in on this year and hopes to be so successful this year that Butler and Harris decide to stay with Simmons and Embiid.
Only time will tell how this deal pans out for both teams. Short-term it has big implications for the West race for the final playoff spot. I don't see the Clippers hanging on without their top scorer and rebounder. The Lakers look less than ordinary with LeBron not at full strength and a not-ready-yet roster. And the Wolves are now 4 behind the Clippers and 3 behind the Kings, and probably too banged up to make up that ground UNLESS all 4 of our injured players (and especially RoCo) get healthy...right now. So that leaves the Kings now as the most likely playoff survivor.
