He provides a lot of what they lack from the perimeter while presenting unique versatility that only a few players in the NBA can match. I also think he's a defense-first, tough, high-motor and high-character type player that would be a good blend with the current nucleus.
PS: My apologies for being away from the board for some time. Career opportunity presented itself and that's where my focus was.
Good to have you back pre-draft, Cam...always appreciate your thoughts on college players I didn't get a chance to watch during the year. I hope the career opportunity is panning out.
There are several of us here who crave Isaac...I've loved him since early in the year and think he has an enormous upside. Most of us here don't see him dropping to 7 though. He's already projected top 6 in most mocks I believe, and he's the kind of kid that could soar after workouts. Do you have a plausible scenario under which he is available to us at 7?
Good to have you back Cam congrats on the opportunity.
I hope you would give a few thoughts on a some of the other prospects in this draft both good and bad. I want Isaac too.
I'm disappointed.
TeamRicky and Cam like the same prospect. I need drama in my life.
Geez Cam, I'm a little disappointed that career-related frivolities took you away from this board. Where are your priorities man!?
We really missed your college know-how, although perhaps your "job" took you away from watching NCAA ball too.
Now that Cam has jumped on the Isaac bandwagon, I'm starting to get mildly excited about him too. That means one of two things: Either he won't drop to us or he will and sorely disappoint us. Rookies exist to get us excited and then disappoint us - especially Wolves rookies.

Great to have you back Cam!!! I agree with you completely on Isaac. Unfortunately, I think he'll be gone by the time we pick at #7. Any thoughts on what the Wolves should do if Isaac's off the board when we pick?

I think if he is off the board and there was a run on SF's we will be in good position to trade down with a team that might be looking to draft a PG. It will be interesting. I hope Issac is there for us.
It's less than 4 weeks till the draft and while there is still plenty of time for movement it seems nothing particularly significant has happened when it comes to news about the lottery picks. Teams are going to some workouts and are scheduling some guys to come in so there is time for movement but it feels like a really dead period the last couple weeks. Hopefully those guards blow people away and leave a talented wing player for us at #7.

I agree. I think the telling picks will be 76ers at 3 and Kings at 5. We want both to go guards.

Yes, not much draft buzz lately. Workouts are undoubtedly happening, but not much news from the Wolves camp or anywhere else. I'm hoping Monk and Fox blow people away in workouts. I agree with Bleed that #4 and #5 (Sixers and Kings) are the keys for the Wolves prospects at #7. We have to hope both go guard. That would likely mean the Sixers take Monk and the Kings take Fox. I'm hoping, but I don't see that happening. I can't see the Sixers, Kings and Magic all passing on Isaac. So best case scenario that's remotely realistic would be Josh Jackson or Jason Tatum falling to us.
Most likely scenario will have us at #7 with Monk, Zach Collins and Markkenan as the best prospects on the board at that point. The Wolves could probably trade down a few spots and still get Markkenan. I'm assuming the Wolves will have all three in for workouts in the next few weeks. I'd love to know what Thibs, Layden and the rest of the front office team think of those three right now based on all the scouting and research they've done to date.
I hope Fox and either Monk or DSJ gets taken ahead of us. About half the mock drafts paint that scenario including DraftExpress. That leaves us with Tatum or Isaac. I'd be happy with either, though I prefer Isaac.
