Every team needs a glue guy like him.
That was the most random scoring outburst game I ever saw. Almost unreal amount of fast break points for brew. Got most of his points around the rim and fts.
I remember adelmans quote after the game. Something like "They dont know what to do with him. We dont know either"
Note. Love did not suit up for that game.
People have it all wrong they say Love was setting up Brewer for easy points. It turns out he was just holding Brewer back. Lol
If I had to pick one wing from the current Wolves roster to put on a winning basketball team I'd take Brewer with no hesitation. That doesn't mean I am starting him but the guy can play I'll take him on my team.

Nobody's saying Brewer sucks, but he does make the most sense to move. That's assuming Budinger is 100% for this season, which very well could be a wrong assumption.

Has there ever been a first overall pick come in with a chip on his shoulder as big as Andrew Wiggins being traded because the cavs need to "win now". Here's to hoping that drives him even more.

Exactly. This team. Ended better perimeter shooting last season with Love and that need will CEO e even more imperative next season. Brewer is a good glue guy off the bench for a playoff team with plenty of shooters. He's just a poor fit for a rebuilding or re-tooling team like the Wolves lacking in perimeter shooting. He doesn't add ball-handling either -- another deficiency on this team last season. He also has two years left on his deal so trading him as part of the Love deal would free up more cap space next summer. Given our log jam at the SF position it also makes sense to move Corey to better balance the roster.
So as Cam said, we're not saying Brewer sucks. We're simply saying that for this team right boon wit makes sense to move him.

Measurables aside, what makes you think this??
Thad isn't very strong or physical. His game is quickness and speed. He's more of a SF offensively and matches up better defensively against SFs. He was considered a SF coming out of college. I was at his Target Center workout where he was matched up with Brewer, Al Thornton and Chris Wright. In other words, he was paired with other SF prospects. By the way, he was clearly the second best player in that scrimmage after Al Thornton -- a close second. He had the best looking shooting stroke and was clearly the fastest of the bunch. You'll see that his pre-draft camp agility and sprint times bear out his SF caliber speed and lateral quickness.

I would also pick Brewer for a winning basketball team. He's a nice addition to an already playoff caliber team and even better as an addition to a championship contender. But he's not a good fit for a young rebuilding team, especially one like the Wolves where our young talent (Wiggins, LaVine, Shabazz) all play Corey's positions.

Latest report has the Wolves simply swapping Love for Wiggins, Bennett and a 2018 first round pick. I was hoping for something a little better -- at least getting the Miami or Memphis first round pick or Waiters.
There must be a separate deal with another team in the works to offload JJ and possibly someone else. We will have to clear at least one roster spot just to take on both Wiggins and Bennett. Then we'll have to clear yet another spot to make room for Glen Robinson.

Hmm, I think we can all agree that wiggins/bennet and a pick is the surest thing we would get in a deal with cavs. I suspect that which picks will be involved is still up for negotaition as well as a 3rd team to take back salary from us.

Brewer is a great fit for Cleveland though. He could almost start at SG for them. Irving - Brewer - James - Love - Varejao gives them a nice balance of offense and defence.
I'd be willing to send them Brewer if we got Waiters or Young in return. But wouldn't just throw him in as a salary dump. Brewer earned his contract last season.

The problem I have is this is a similar reasoning a lot of people had when we traded him the first time and look how that worked out. Bud we have no idea if he will be a factor and Martin is likely to miss around 20 games. I get it makes sense to move him but if I had my choice I'd keep him nobody outside of Martin and now Mo Williams is really a sure thing to be a better shooter than Brewer and. Yes that's kinda sad. I really think Flip has another move lined up (if the Love deal isn't a 3-way trade) and its going to be interesting to see what it is.
