Absolutely huge get for this offseason to get him on a one year deal. If your wondering why Odo would take the deal. One he getting a surplus for one year and he can make his value go up even more. Also next year starting pitching free agent class is weak and he will most likely be one of the top 3 pitchers available.

I agree it seems like a good deal for both sides. It doesn't hurt that he has seemingly improved while being with the Twins. Why not come back for another year? Oh and this team might also be pretty good.
Zack Wheeler has to be Minnesota's top priority. There's money to be spent. Go get a top tier arm.
As for the talk about moving Eddie Rosario, I'm only even slightly interested if the return is MLB-proven starting pitching. Jon Gray is the name I've heard thrown around the most with some tossing Robbie Ray as an alternative. Gray would be a decent get, but I think you have to call the Mets up and steal Noah Syndergaard after the season he had. He would instantly be our ace with Berrios and Wheeler making up a fearsome threesome and the uber solid Odorizzi sliding in the four spot. That's how you go aggressively after pitching.
If they can get the deal they proposed here its a no brainer. There is no place here for Brent Rooker to play and I been told by many scouts they dont think he can stick at first base and will have to play left field.

Just curious Cam would you do a Buxton for Thor swap? and what are your thoughts with Rendon?

I know that article is more speculation than insider information, but if that proposed deal is anything close to what it would take to acquire Jon Gray, then pulling the trigger is exactly what the Twins should do. I tend to think it'll cost a bit more than that, but Gray's a nice buy-low option that I think you can root for with ease. He'd be a solid get.

I was ready for the Twins to make a deal centered around Byron Buxton and Noah Syndergaard dating back to before the trade deadline last season. I think that was a missed opportunity for Minnesota to steal an ace having an off year.
As for Anthony Rendon, I think he's an elite player in the game, obviously. If you can get him for seven years, $230M -- I think you do it. He's that good.
