That is cool. I hadn't heard of him, but he is only 22. How is the rest of the kids in the minors doing? I don't hear much about them with the big club doing well.

I haven't been checking but I saw that a bunch of the relievers in AAA were...um...not doing well. Arraez wasn't a guy I had heard much about either. He hadn't been at AAA long this was the first year he reached that level. He turned 22 in April.

This offensive explosion is insane. What's more is a couple guys from last year that are on other teams have had some success at their current teams like Logan's Forsythe with Texas (Danny Santana is swinging a hot bat there also) and Tyler Austin has been productive when he plays. Sano swinging well from the jump is just terrific. Eventually these guys have to cool off a bit right????? This morning I saw Buxton was leading the Majors in doubles. I'll take it.
Meanwhile there is some really nice things happening with the pitching staff also. I mean there are still some holes but if the worst thing about the starting rotation is you need a 5th starter...that's not a big problem especially considering the Twins schedule the rest of the season. I feel less confident that the top 4 rotation guys are for real as this offense but it seems like Gibson is getting on track so...things are looking good right now.

Yeah this team is fun to watch. Hopefully this HR barrage continues and we stay healthy. But of course the Shanks are right there with us.

Good timing posting this Smeltzer up and making his first start in the majors for Pineda going to the DL with knee tendinitis.

I'll be interest to see if Jester has any thoughts on the draft from any connections he has from his time in scouting. It seems the Twins added 2 more big power bats so far.

Sorry Monster don't have much to offer for info on the draft this year.

I might not have any draft info but I'm starting to get worried about Royce Lewis. In 233 ABs he's hitting .224 and worst part about it he has a 59/19 k/bb ratio. The whole point of this guy is how plate disciplined he was coming out of high school but there are reports now he's swinging at everything like La Tortuga.
So I pose the question to you guys if Max Scherzer becomes available at the trade deadline. Would you trade Royce Lewis and a package of minor league players for 2.5 years of control of Scherzer. Because I would honestly do that now.

I would do that too.
