I might be crazy, but I would probably cut both Murray and Jones. I would keep CJ Ham and Sutton over those 2 and save some $'s. Adams and Coley look pretty good to me. They both are very electric and look like lighting on the field.
Listening to PA this AM. They said 49ers came prepared to win this game. Prepped like it was regular season after getting crushed the week before. I hope that is the case because our 1st teams looked underwhelming at best.

Re: Vikings 2017 Training Camp and Preseason Thread of Glory
I was at the game last night...well, at least for the first half when there was at least a modicum of interest in defense. We were terrible in the first half, and the second half was a double disaster defensively...glad I left, along with about half of the fans.
One guy stood out in the half I was there, and that was Bradford...he was terrific. 17 for 21 despite 2 bad drops by Diggs. His arm is so accurate when he has time, but it's a big question whether he will have time this year...3 sacks and several scrambles out of trouble were very discouraging.

I thought Murray looked good for his first action. As much as I like Ham I would be worried if Cook went down because McKinnon hasn't been able to be a lead back either and we didn't know if he can pass protect. Cutting Murray it looks like it would only save them like $400k.
PFF had Jones as one of their top performers. Of course you may take that with a grain of salt if he was a 3rd team guy but maybe he was a bit higher than that. I liked more what's i saw from Sutton though and he is basically getting the min so that would save a nice chunk of cash compared to Jones. Shamar was ahead of both of them in the game and I thought I noticed he showed some flashes actually which he typically just does his job but not anything to write home about etc.

The Colts dumped Jeff Locke today. Oh and they traded a long snapper to the Jets. You don't see that kind of transaction very often. Lol
Back to Locke it's kinda funny he got 1.25 million guaranteed in his contract...for a punter...that was below average. He has a good agent I guess. :)

You are right. I thought they might be able to save more. It just seems like you can find RB's at anytime during the season. At least ones that are marginal.
Remmers really has struggled. I wonder if there is any chance Hill gets a chance to start at RT. Who has been playing majority of the backup snaps there?
PFF breakdown - Jones had a top 5 grade, but honestly it doesn't mean much in preseason
https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-refocused-minnesota-vikings-31-san-francisco-49ers-31
TOP 5 GRADES:
QB Case Keenum, 84.8 overall grade
ED Danielle Hunter, 83.4 overall grade
QB Sam Bradford, 82.9 overall grade
DI Datone Jones, 81.1 overall grade
CB Jabari Price, 81.1 overall grade
PERFORMANCES OF NOTE:
QB SAM BRADFORD, 82.9 OVERALL GRADE
Bradford completed 17 of 20 passes, and two of his incompletions were drops by Stefan Diggs. He was a perfect 14-for-14 on throws shorter than 10 yards through the air, and his three completions beyond 10 went for 61 of his 134 yards passing.
QB CASE KEENUM, 84.8 OVERALL GRADE
Keenum led the Vikings on two touchdown drives in the second half, built largely on his play under pressure. When faced with San Fran's rush, he completed four of six passes for 60 yards and one of his scores, and had an impressive passer rating of 138.9.
ED DANIELLE HUNTER, 83.4 OVERALL GRADE
Hunter showed why he is one of the main catalysts for the exciting Vikings defense with his pass rushing skills. In the first half he recorded two pressures rushing the passer off of the left side. Hunter was the best Viking defender among the starters and finished the game with a 83.9 pass rushing grade.
CB JABARI PRICE, 80.5 OVERALL GRADE
Price made one of the plays of the game when he drove on a short dig route and dislodged it from Louis Murphy's arms. The ball went straight up in the air into the waiting arms of Antone Exum Jr, and gave the Vikings excellent field position early in the 3rd quarter. Price did not allow a reception all night on 14 snaps in coverage.

Just for kicks here are some guys the Vikings could cut and save money that aren't starters or obvious contributors.
Datone Jones over 2 million
Wright almost 1.5 million
Lamur 2.7 million
Shamar 1.6 million
Now someone will get paid some amount of money to play those spots so it's not a complete savings. They are gonna pick the best players but it's kinda fun to look at. Lol It looks like they still have cap space right now anyway so it probably doesn't matter that much.

Thanks for the report LST.
Re: Vikings 2017 Training Camp and Preseason Thread of Glory
Bleed I think what makes Murray valuable is that he is kinda good at pretty much everything. Again he is a better version of Asiata and that's a pretty solid guy. It's hard to find guys that can do everything and have some sort of speed. Murray's speed doesn't always show up on the field but he is faster than Asiata types. Also if they cut him and have to bring in another guy it may end up costing them money in cap space instead of saving it. I'd just keep Murray.
Remmers...has not looked good. If they are worried about him I would think they keep him there for a couple weeks and get Hill or Sirles work in practice on that side and see what happens. If Remmers sucks that will probably be easier to rectify but it will not look very good as a signing. It would also be a little weird if he went from being at worst a little below average to being awful.

You can carry cap space over so it could be something to consider.

Good point I forgot about that. Hmm
