Honestly, I don't know that I've ever been less impressed with a blowout win.

On the positive side, obviously we shot the lights out, which was great. I liked how some of the subs played, and we weren't as careless with the ball as usual. So obviously, this was better than a lot of our games this year.

But on the negative side, that was a G-League team we were playing against. We clearly had a huge talent advantage, which might explain why we kind of played lackadaisically. Ant, who was on fire, didn't rely too much on iso ball, which was good. But I also thought he didn't look super-engaged, especially on the defensive end. And that play where Jaden lazily turned the ball over and didn't even try to get back on D? Totally unacceptable.

Mostly though, KAT's BS is really starting to drive me crazy. Complaining about stuff where he's obviously guilty. And he's really turning into a cheap trick kind of player. Constantly hooking defenders, and he's getting back to kicking out his leg to fish for the foul on the jump shot again. That's just such a BS play. I need to run, but the character he's showing is the opposite of what you want to build your team around. He's obviously still our best player, but I really can't enjoy cheering for a team that features a whiny, cheap player who actually seems to believe his own BS.

Yep, starting with Vando who not only had another 16 rebounds last night and keeps so many offensive possessions alive with offensive rebounds and tip saves. And even though his shooting is as inconsistent as almost anyone in the league (3-12 on Wednesday night, 11-12 last night!), when he plays unselfish like last night, he is a very productive player...his pass to Vando rather than taking an uncontested layup was an an example of the unselfishness he exhibits when he's playing winning basketball. I credit his great game to both Finch benching him Wednesday and DLo's character to learn from the lesson and not force shots when they're not going in. I'm finding DLo very easy to cheer for these days too.

And now we are almost certainly going to get back to .500 with Houston up next. Remember when the Rockets were hot a month ago and I suggested it was primarily due to the Biblically horrible Jalen Green being out? Well, he's back, and that's good for our Wolves. It's pretty predictable what is going to happen to a team when they put a -17.5 on/off guy back in the starting lineup in place of a +10.4 guy (Matthews)...the Rockets are 8-4 when Green sits, and 3-25 when he plays! Let's celebrate and enjoy getting to .500, because I agree with Q that the schedule turns absolutely brutal after the blowout win in Houston. 12 of the next 17 are on the road, and 3 of the 5 home games are against Golden State, Brooklyn (with Irving now in road games) and Utah. I don't remember ever seeing us on such a tough stretch. If I look at the upcoming 6 weeks, 5 games under .500 would be a good goal...but we will need PatBev to stay healthy to achieve that. Fortunately, the schedule gets more reasonable after mid-February.

I don't FNG I think the Wolves have shown enough that they won't fall off a cliff at anytime if healthy. Wolves are 17-12 when Dlo plays and 2-8 when he doesn't. I believe Cam said the Wolves are now 30-22 in the Kat/Dlo era what is legit good. Also for the Wolves to be within 5 games of 500 in the next 15 games (assuming they win the next 2, what is never a given). The Wolves would need to go 4-11 after these 2 "easy" games. I believe the Wolves will do that pretty easily. Assuming solid health.

It depends on what games (or sometimes 12 minutes of a game) you watched. Roby had some games where he looked like that do it all "big" the league is looking for. Other times he basically disappeared. Did I think he was for sure gonna be an NBA player? No but I thought he had a chance. For him it was a lot about consistency.

Speaking of former Huskers Jordy T is playing for Iowa Wolves. He struggled with consistency too but there was a lot less there than Roby imo.

I hope you're right, kek, but as I went through the schedule game-by-game, 4-11 doesn't seem unlikely given the unforgiving road schedule combined with mostly elite competition in the few home games. And that's if they stay healthy, and we all know that's never a given with PatBev, DLo and KAT. Let's hope they can stay healthy though because the offense looked spectacular last night even with Pat missing.
