I'm not sure where I'd rank him amongst the league today, but I think he's a very good and talented young player.
But KG4Ever has been exposed tonight as being bias and unjustified in his analysis. Russell was arguably the best player on the floor for either team tonight -- the numbers reflect this as does the eye test -- and yet again we get the same tired nonsense about how god-awful Russell is and yada yada yada. It's unbecoming. Perhaps pick and choose your battles more wisely, KG4Ever.
Yep, KG4Ever is ready to go if this doesn't work out with DLO to call Rosas a dumbass. But he never gives his opinion on what he would do. Always keeps himself out of an actual opinion so he can rip other people when it doesn't work out.
I respect Cool in all the DLO talk. Cool doesn't think DLO will work out in the long run what it might not but at least he says he would have blown the whole thing up. Don't know how realistic that is but at least he has an opinion on the thing. Feeling like it is impossible to build around DLO and KAT so trade them both. I respect that.

And you said he's a top 30 player. I have a bridge to sell you. LOL
DLO was not even in top 300 in NBA RPM. He's even worse in regular plus minus stats. Remember last two games of -48, -22 and against a poor Charlotte team he is positive. DLO rarely shows up against good teams.
Did he really say he's a top 30 player? I don't think he's that dumb.

RPM is a predictive stat not on what actually happens on the court. Also it has a lot to do with who your teammates are on the court. No shit he is not going to be good when he is playing for the worst team in the NBA in the Warriors. Draymon Green is 43rd in RPM for PF behind something called Johnathan Motley. Christian Wood is 6th in the NBA for PF in RPM. Grant Williams is 12th, Mfiondu Kabengele is 26th so he should be an NBA starter.
RPM is one of the worst stats there is. RPM is a predictive stat and has so much to do with who you are on the court with.
People lower in RPM then Russell: Oladipo, LaMarcus Aldridge, Mike Conley.
Of the bottom 50 players in RPM only 14 are playoff teams and none of those 14 get significant playing time

I like the Beasley deal. And I like the Gorgui for Johnson swap now that I've gotten a good look at Johnson. But I would have preferred the deal I proposed a month ago, trading Wiggins for Batum, Graham and a second round pick. I think Charlotte would have gone for it at the time because they really want to unload Batum and they're not the most savvy organization.

I don't think they would have done that. With rumors being the Hornets wanted to do Batum and a 2nd for Wiggins. I don't think we could have gotten Graham. Eventhough that would have been sweet

Ya. I think the reason why you and Cam fight is because you are both stubborn, and have a quick tongue and have polar opposite philosophies on how to build a team.
I usually end closer to Cams side in philosophy but I will always respect people who at least bring an argument with thoughts, ideas and stats. Think you both do that

Cam and I definitely have some commonalities in our personas. But we have some pretty stark differences too. I suspect he's quite a bit younger than me and that has a lot to do with our philosophical differences.

This team has no shot at winning shooting 39% from the field and 29% from 3. You just have to hit shots when you are built like the Rockets and give up the board battle every night playing small ball. We now 100% live and die by the 3pt shot and they didn't fall tonight.

Abe's Late Night DVR Review:
- Hernangomez missing bunnies. It's happened in multiple games now. Looks like it's been a problem for him all season. But beyond that... he made Bismack Biyombo look like Wilt Chamberlain. Now, it was during the time when the Wolves were up big... but there was NO resistance. I know he's undersized, but he was worked by a very very limited offensive big. Even Jim Pete chimed in echoing the new regime's take on the happenings...
"Biyombo having his way, but the Wolves don't care as long as it's two pointers." UGH.
- I shut it off for good after a series where the Wolves had a terrible offensive possession... I think it ended with stagnation and then a bad one-on-one move from Beasley and a miss... only to have that 7-foot big man for Charlotte (who looked like Wilt earlier in the game) pass up a wide open dunk to pass it out for a much worse three point attempt. It was such bad basketball from two bad basketball teams... I was tired and had enough.
- So the Wolves traded Jeff Teague (whether you liked him or not... he had moments where he could help a team win games)... for the 10th man in the rotation... 11th if Jake Layman ever returns from the worst toe injury in documented history?
- Vanderbilt seems like a stash-away prospect that's destined for the G-League. I guess I don't know where he fits. He can't shoot. But he was picked by a team that wants shooting. He's really raw, so he's no defensive dynamo yet. He's athletic. So... ok.
- Beasley will get buckets. I don't know if he'll be all that efficient at it... actually in today's game where even 35% on high volume three pointers is considered uber-efficient, he'll be regaled for it. But I do like his motor. He seems to be tough, too. That fall on his face was rough. For now... I'm willing to live with spotty shot selection and some limitations everywhere beyond the three point line if he keeps playing with intensity like he has.
- I thought we saw bad James Johnson tonight. From the get-go, his decision-making seemed off and he was lucky not to throw his first three passes to the other team. But he's still a vet. He still blocked 3 shots, had 3 steals. He "does stuff" on the court.
- Charlotte had lost 13 of its past 15 games.... losing 11 of them by 8+ points. And only beating the Knicks and Pistons. (and check out who the Pistons played that night... https://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/202002100DET.html)
- After writing that... I realized... the Wolves are actually worse than the Hornets. And I realized that every Hornets fan would have been super disappointed if they somehow lost to an even worse team without its best player.
That's how bad the Wolves STILL are... even Hornets fans expect to beat the Wolves on the road.

EDIT: In my drowsiness... I was wrong about that sequence of events:
- Biyombo scored for the Wolves off a Beasley miss: https://streamable.com/2ihat
- Then, D. Russell fouled a subpar (34%) three point shooter after Biyombo passed up the dunk: https://streamable.com/pw8dc
