I'm reading the Philly realgm board, and they have it all figured out...the problem in last night's loss is they didn't get the ball to Jimmy in the 4th quarter! My word of advice...be careful what you ask for...

And the icing on the cake...a complete 4th quarter collapse and Philly losing to a mediocre Orlando team! Butler shot fine, but only contributed 4 rebounds and 2 assists...and was a big -7! Butler needs to "do shit" to be at his most effective, and there just aren't many rebounds and assists available on a team with Embiid and Simmons. I wouldn't be surprised if Jimmy tries to make up for his lack of stats by dominating the ball and forcing shots. If that happens, Embiid and Simmons are not going to be happy. But I will be!
I'm with you, LST! :)

Yeah, it's a really interesting experiment because Simmons is such an extreme outlier. He's brilliant with the ball in his hands but absolutely useless as a floor spacer. So what does he do when Butler goes all iso? And Butler isn't exactly a flame thrower from outside either, so what does he do when Simmons has the ball? Good thing they have JJ Redick otherwise they'd be screwed with spacing.

I would expect Jimmy to do there what he did here. Feel it out for a couple games and then take over. They also are gonna struggle offensively just due to the lack of shooting now. They traded away 2 of their 3 best shooters to get him. I think they have another move or 2 to make around that 3 before they start to really look formidable.

They still be a prime buyout place. Can get minutes and play a big role. You never know a guy like toliver could hit the buyout market if we fall out of it.

All true...it's going to be a challenge for Brown to make this big three work. And as Reddick is forced to take more 3's, being their only reliable option beyond the arc, his success rate goes down...he's only at about 36% this season. I found it interesting that Joel Embiid who has averaged 3.5 3's per game throughout his career took 7 last night...you think he's recognizing that 2 of the team's most reliable 3-point shooters are no longer on the roster?

I just looked at the scores for last night...Dallas beat Utah but 50 holding them to 68 points? WTF that's crazy. I saw a video on twitter of Luka with a ball fake and score on Gobert. Good stuff.

Redick is currently taking a career high amount of shots. In fact, he's 2nd on the team in attempts... 4 more than the next guy.
It's a legit concern for the 76ers.
Let's not forget that it was a literally a .500 team last season until they brought in two floor spacers in Belinelli and Ilyasova as buyouts. I fully expect them to be among the short list of teams getting credible buyout players this season, too.

Also to add to what you are saying that those 2 buyout guys got nice enough contracts after putting up terrific numbers for the Sixers.

Robbie Hummel doing college analysis now. I think we can still use him as an enforcer for 10 minutes per.
