NBA Playoff Thread
Re: NBA Playoff Thread
I dont think theres any way we could get Collins short of trading Ant. Atlanta is good and Collins seems to fit. I dont see why they would let him go.

Apparently there's real animosity from KDs end when it comes to Giannis. It makes the series a little bit more interesting for me. It also solidifies my belief that Durant is the biggest mental midget the league has ever seen.
He came into the league as such a likeable figure. I can't think of a player in any sport that I went 180 on more than him.
I had the same 180 on Durant. He's become such a whiny, prickly, hyper-sensitive arrogant prick. So how do I really feel, you ask? :) I thought his reaction to post-game questions the other night was pathetic. Nevertheless, I'll give him credit for attaching himself to other stars to set himself up for championships without bearing too much of a burden.

The Nuggets are down by 20 with 10 minutes remaining. Will Denver's head coach, Malone, lapse into a rant and publicly accuse his players of quitting again after tonight's loss? Tom Thibodeau is as hard-nosed as any head coach in the League, but you'd never hear him rant publicly about his players quitting. Malone is a jerk and the Nuggets would be well advised to fire him after they're knocked out of the post season.
The Nuggets were trounced the other night and are losing big again tonight because the Suns are a lot better than they are. The Nuggets can't compete with the Suns without their other star, J. Murray, and with Barton just returning from injury and on a minutes restriction. They beat the Blazers because the Blazers are one of the worst defensive teams in the League. Meanwhile, the Suns are really good. The Nuggets have never "quit." They've just been substantially outplayed by a far better team.

I thought people didn't like Thibs in part for his outward displays of emotion and cursing loud enough for young fans to hear.

I didn't like Thibs' antics during games. Moreover, I didn't think that Thibs was the right coach for the Wolves at the time and I thought it was ridiculous to give him the PBO role as well. But Thibs never publicly berated his players the way Malone did. I'm sure he did in private, and that's perfectly appropriate. And one think I'll say about Thibs is that his players never quit on him. So if Malone is right that his players quit, then that's on Malone as much as it is his players. I don't care for Thibs because of his coaching style. But I respect him as a head coach. I have little respect for Malone.

Why do I find myself rooting for the Clippers? Most of my instincts would normally root for the Jazz, but I don't know why I want the Clippers to win.

Also anxious to get my first look at the Bucks-Brooklyn matchup today. Would like to see the Bucks even things up and may be see more fireworks with Tucker and Durant.
I'm normally not a PJ Tucker fan, who for some reason has for years gotten away with clutching and grabbing people defensively, but don't mind seeing him get away with it against Durant!

Q - I'm in sync with both of your last posts. I would never have guessed that I'd be rooting for any team over the Jazz, much less an LA team. I think, for me, it's Kawhi. I just love the way that guys plays. And I also like the idea of the Clippers winning and the Lakers having been knocked out already.
Like you, this is the first time I've found myself rooting for PJ Tucker. As it turns out, the Bucks have, in fact, evened the series. Looks like Kyrie won't be coming back soon. If Harden comes back, the Nets will still be tough to beat.

Crowder just committed two consecutive turnovers that led to buckets by the Nuggets. Just shows you that being an experienced veteran with playoff experience might be overrated. Give me talent and players with high basketball IQs and I don't care a lot about how many years they've been in the League, how many playoff games they've played or how many rings they have.

Drawing such a strong opinion based on two possessions makes me understand why you enjoy Stephen A's hyperbole so much!
