Yeah. I gotta take the hit for this one.

At the time, I was saying the Coach + GM coupling was the carrot needed to lure a legit coaching talent like Thibs. And that was right before (or even during) the NBA's drive away from that... for obvious reasons.

I was wrong. Dammit.

Well I think you were right in that was the landscape at the time to lure a top tier talent to Minnesota at that point. I suspect we still could have gotten a good coach to match our young talent at that point without selling the farm though. Ultimately, it really didn't seem like there was much negotiation on it at the time.

I don't think anyone's banging their fists on the table screaming to fire Saunders. I'm certainly not doing that and I've probably been the most critical of his hiring. What we can and are doing is discussing how he does his job -- the same way we break down the players and how they've performed to this point of the season. If you have an issue with that, I'm not sure what to tell you.

There is a difference between discussing how he does, and nitpicking. And this is especially true of you with how sensitive you were to every negative thing said about Thibs. Can you not see the double standard?

There is no double standard. You're living in a fairytale land if you think people are criticizing Saunders anywhere near as much as they were Thibodeau. I mean, the guy at one point had the team third in the conference and there were posters here bitching and complaining about his sideline antics or how the offense wasn't pretty enough for their liking -- meanwhile it was top-10 in the league despite all of that. That was embarrassing to witness as a basketball fan.

And yet I'm supposedly rushing to judgement by making valid observations about the team that are in no way calling for the head coach's job? Sounds like a reach, Cool. Try again.

All right, you're going to be a jackass again. I won't try again, I'll just go back to ignoring your posts like i did for a year. I've tried to be civil, it just doesn't work.

You instigate and then play the victim card too much for my liking. It's really not a good look. And thank you for the announcement, but there are far more sensible posters here to go back-and-forth with than the Phil Jackson of girl's youth basketball. Give me a break.

What a prick. Okay the gloves are coming off. You're such a pussy, someone challenges you on a point and immediately the snarky comments have to come out. I said nothing here that should have elicited the snarky, passive aggressive nonsense your posts have included. You continue to be so butt-hurt over the treatment Thibs received on this forum, that you have to go overboard in needling his successor. And why? Because you can't admit what a fucking moron you were supporting the dumbass in the first place. You're the same way about all the things you're wrong about. Your pussy personality can't deal with your own shortcomings. Grow the fuck up.

Can you guys delete these posts and start over?

I think there's common ground here and both of you have valuable opinions to contribute to this board. This sucks.

Well... the thing we should expect from this organization eventually is ... instead of being in at the tail end of such things... be a trendsetter. Be out front. Be a leader.

Other teams were figuring out that it doesn't work... right when Taylor gave Thibs the universal keys.

Here are the guys shooting above their career average on 3's:
KAT
Layman

Here are the guys shooting below their career average on 3's:
Teague
Napier
Graham
Okogie
Dieng

Here are the guys right around their career average on 3's:
Wiggins
Covington

And then there is Culver, who OF COURSE is struggling from 3 because that's what all Wolves rookies are supposed to do.

It's true that from an offensive perspective, we don't have the ideal personnel. BUT, 5 out of 9 of our regular rotation players are statistically significantly shooting the 3 worse than their historical average which is making things worse than what should be expected, even with a less than ideal roster.

(Edit: Of course, I really shouldn't be surprised by any of this since I've been convinced for years now that we are under some demonic curse when it comes to shooting. I'm sure Graham and Okogie would be league average shooters if they played for Houston or some other non-cursed team).

Fred Hoiberg shot the three lights out. Maybe the curse started when he left? Kevin Love was pretty good too though. Oh and LaVine was solid. KAT is OK. So Maybe it's only star players who can shoot well here.

Cause pretty much everyone else has sucked.

Well Fred Hoiberg's team can't hit FTs. I know I watched them go like 19/38 in an overtime game against Southern. #13 Bradford a senior for the Jaguars has 318 points In his college career and he put up 31 tonight looking like freaking Trae Young. Lol

I think LST is in a better place. Oh not that he is dead just maybe in a better place.

This reminds me of a Lenny Kravitz song "Sister" that I made some modifications to and I'm now decorating to LST. If this doesn't bring him back nothing will. Also anyone want to talk music? I went to a Bob Dylan concert a few weeks ago. Anyway here is the song.

LST
Did you have to fall in love
With a man
That never was
Up to no good
He took your soul
And he stole your only heart
Flipped your wiggins and left a permanent scar

LST
Did you have to go away
You left your home
And the things you had to say
It didn't feel good to let you slide
I never got to say goodbye
I miss you LST I think I'm gonna cry

If they knock on your door
You already gave
You don't need no more of what's ailing you
Just lean on your soul with all that it takes
May god bring you back home to America
America, America, America, America.

LST, LST, LST, LST, LST
It's just a test of faith
Your heart is pure so the devil's in your face
I'll see you soon
'Cause they haven't got a case
And you'll be free
In a beautiful place, in a beautiful place
In a beautiful place, in a beautiful place

If they knock on your door
You already gave
