Dinwiddie needs to develop a mid-range game. He's trying to force these 'oops that just aren't there instead of just shooting the ball.
Not the system the nets want to run
I just have to imagine that the open short midrange jumper is better then the contested layup for some guys. I wish I knew the numbers on that.

Gorgui was a monster late.
Shabazz was very good late also.
Kbd was a swiss army knife.
Cov, teague and Martin all battled.
Culver scored 21 and got him going with a few mid range jumpers and post ups.
Naz played good D by just walling up and he hit 3 3s.
Props to Saunders, thought the action on offense was a lot better tonight. That legit had good off ball movement. Also even though they didn't make many his out of timeout sets got really good looks. Thought Ryan mixed and mashed well tonight when they didn't have a star to get going

I would be curious also on that.

I wouldn't trade him for two reasons. First, you rarely trade a guy at his lowest point unless he's a team cancer or wants out and it ends up being an amicable parting of the ways. Second, he has a really strong work ethic and hustles his ass off. You need guys like that at the end of your bench. He can still be of value off the bench when a shot of energy and hustle is needed. Now if he was part of a package that brought in a high-value asset, then sure.

Im not ready to trade okogie just to trade okogie. I feel like okogie would be better with better players on the court because he is a good cutter. But he can't be on the court with another non shooter, it just kills spacing

I think the bet is that even if the layup is contested, they can still draw fouls at a decent rate and free throws are a really high-efficiency possession for most players (in fact, Dinwiddie HAS had a lot of success with this. You can see he's really trying to model his game after Harden).
Still...I do think an open 10-15 foot pull-up jumper is absolutely needed because the way to guard PnR these days is drop coverage. Centers like Lopez, Gasol, etc. are really good at walling up without fouling so the higher percentage play really is the open mid-range. The system can't be so dogmatic to totally eliminate this shot.
Go look at Brooklyn's offensive rating...their offensive system isn't working much better than our version of it.
