Re: Wolves at Hawks GDT

Ugh. Well... I hate to pile on, but here we go... hopefully adding a different spin on the frustration:
- KAT shot 8 times. That's at least 4 fewer than every other Wolves starter. By the way, KAT was guarded by Ersan Ilyasova for vast stretches of this game. ILYASOVA!!!!
I'm anything but a knee-jerk alarmist... but if the Wolves can't figure out a way to get its "superstar" center more than 8 shots vs. ERSAN ILYASOVA... everybody has to go. EVERYBODY. That's fucking ridiculous.
[breathe... breathe... breathe...]
Or, is it telling about how hard it is to win big with an offense/team centered around a Big Man in today's NBA. It takes at least two people to get them into the action, whereas a guy like James or Harden or Leonard or Giannis can start with the ball in their hands. Who are the best bigs in the game today?
- Anthony Davis
- Demarcus Cousins
- KAT
- Porzingis
What have they won? One playoff berth combined?
- Yes. Teague was bad. He was terrible. My thoughts on him are already known. Everybody is in the same boat at this point.
- This was one of those games that "felt bad"... and Jim Peterson hinted at it repeatedly. It shows up in the rebounding and the missed opportunities.
- This is not the first game... or 2nd... and maybe not even 3rd... when the Wolves get 20+ TOs against a crappy inferior team and they STILL lose.
- I wish Thibs stole plays... or spent as much time... on inbounds plays as some other coaches... namely Brad Stevens. That last play had ONE option and it wasn't a good one and left one second for an alternative. It was, for lack of a better description, bad high school level strategy. It was embarrassing.
- One bad loss is fine. Two is meh. Three... Four... with all but 8 West teams all but conceding a playoff berth... the Wolves are poised to finally break the streak. But how confident are people in any playoff series?
