Curious....would anyone deal KAT to Warriors for Russell/unprotected 1st next season (right now, likely 1-3). There are few scenarios where I would deal KAT, or where it is even possible from a salary standpoint, but GSW may fit mold.

I definitely wouldn't. No amount of firsts from a team with Steph, Klay and KAT would be enough to be worth it. The interesting trade for me that would never happen would be KAT for Embiid. Philly has the defensive infrastructure to go around KAT and KAT is a much better offensive fit next to Simmons. Embiid gives us the defensive anchor and single big man we would need to play this 1 big system Ryan and Rosas want to run. I don't see Philly picking Simmons over Embiid at the end of the day but that one would fit both teams like a glove.

The Sixers would do that deal in a heartbeat!

You really think so Lip? I'd take Embiid and throw in another asset.
Re: Defense and kat
KAT needs to start winning regardless of the assets around him. If he's going to be all offense and no D that means being a top 5 scorer. He just isnt and we keep losing with him as our star. Be better, plain and simple. If he cant improve his d then he needs to go a take those shots no matter what the offensive system is.

Re: Defense and kat
If I'm both teams I think I do it really. The only issue is selling it too the fans (mostly in Philly). Embiid is much more injury prone then KAT has been which is a major factor. I think Embiid is the better player because he is so much better defensively, but his value hurts because of his injury history.
Re: Defense and kat
Towns needs another big to help him out on d. I remember kat's 1st season with us, he palyed with kg for less than half a season and i thought he was good on d during that time. He needs another big to cover for him.
Jarren Jackson Jr is the 1 big that I think would really fit the team and kat. He can shoot( 40%on 3's in good volume but ugly form though). He has guard like skills similar to towns and is a legit 6'11 guy who can protect the rim. Rosas and saunders will play him with kat for sure given their shooting and guard like skills. Only chance we could get him is if we luck out in the lottery and got the first pick. Highly unlikely but a player like him fits the best with kat.

Uh, we've already got two guys on the roster that can help him out - Dieng and Vonleh. And Dieng is our 2nd most accurate 3-point shooter, so he can absolutely space the floor. Put RoCo at the 3 and now our entire front line pulls out the three biggest players from the opposing team out of the paint and we're better defensively. Let Wiggins and Culver share ball handling duties. It's incredible to me they aren't willing to try this. Instead, somehow Napier starting instead of Dieng gives us a better chance to win!? Crazy.

uh q, the difference is jjj is twice the talent g and vonleh are. I like what g is doing the last month and have always liked vonleh. But those two are bench guys. Jackson jr is a legit starter in the league who has all star potential. His game is a bit similar to kat and would fit with wig and culver. I too am ready for roco to move back into the 3 spot and have culver and wig as the starting guards.
