Things could be getting worse and a lot more than just kat and butler not being best buddies.

Does anyone actually believe anything Charlie Walters says? It seems like this guy has been just throwing stuff out there for years.

I'm always skeptical when it comes to anything reported by Charlie or Doogie for that matter. But that doesn't mean they can never be trusted to provide accurate information. They both have informed sources and have reported accurately in the past. Charlie might just be rehashing what we already know. But when it comes to reports about the toxic relationship between Butler and KAT, the fire is clearly visible behind the smoke. I saw it on the court last season when Butler was visibly pissed at Towns to the point where he refused to take an inbounds pass from KAT and then ran up the court and ignored him.

The relationship is clearly toxic and while both probably share responsibility, I put the vast majority of blame on Butler. He's the elder of the two. He's the one who's been taking shots at KAT indirectly through the media, which is really a punk move. He's the one with a history of alienating teammates in Chicago after Rose was gone and Butler started to assume a more vocal leadership role. Finally, KG had no problem with KAT. In fact, KG loves KAT and Garnett wouldn't feel that way about a player who isn't highly competitive or doesn't work hard.

I wonder what Jimmy's ego tells him if he looks at the LA message boards and see he is like the 4th option for them only if they can't get 3 other guys before him

The thing to keep in mind with most mainstream reporting is that it's not for those of us with too much time on our hands, and who spend it reading anything and everything on the internet. In Charlie's case, I'd bet the majority of his readers don't read much more than his column. He writes a lot that seems obvious to us, but is probably news to many.

I'm still waiting for the story. This is such crap journalism. I've said it with Doogie all the time, but how these hacks still have jobs is beyond me. Get a source, write a story.

I agree with you Doper. While I think there are significant issues between Butler and others on the team, including KAT, it drives me nuts when so-called sports journalists like Charlie and Doogie drop little innuendos without following up to provide any meaningful substance. But at some point, Butler needs to address these issues directly and set the record straight. Either that or the Wolves organization (Thibodeau or Glen) has to step in and resolve things one way or the other.

This Butler thing has cast a shadow over an organization that should be steeped primarily in positivity and focused on building off of last season's foundation. Instead the talk around town is mainly about Butler's unhappiness with his teammates and desire to play elsewhere. The fact that the story initially came from a Chicago reporter close to Butler, coupled with Butler's silence in the face of all these reports, suggests the story is true. So it's up to our front office/ownership to step up and get this resolved. A good organization wouldn't let this fester.
