Paul is elite at all facets, our pgs are merely good to average at what they do best. Not elite at any one thing. Their parts do not equal the sum that is Paul , it's not even close really. Imo

Ricky has elite court vision and playmaking ability, Dunn is an elite defender and Tyus runs an offense like Paul. The only thing that doesn't match up is Paul's shooting and that could just be Tyus not getting enough run to show that he can shoot otherwise that's one area that they wouldn't combine to make CP3 big deal. You don't give our guys nearly enough credit for what they are good at.

So Tyus isn't a PnR PG who protects the ball, tries to facilitate for others and picks his spots when to take over the offensive load? Sure thing. The talent and production don't match but saying their play styles aren't similar is just wrong. Their play styles are virtually the same with the same priorities. That doesn't mean Tyus is CP3. That just means he plays PG the same way just at a different level.

Tibs is stuck in a tough spot with Tyus, you have an established vet in Ricky and a high draft pick in Dunn. We could debate and have debated Ricky and Dunn's roles/playing time on this team. Ricky gives us the best shot to win now and Dunn is the high draft pick with the highest upside of all three, simple as that I think.

My views on what should be done are we'll known. I will disagree with Lip, I think a lot of people on this board having been asking for Tibs to find some consistent minutes for Tyus, and are intrigued with his ability to stabilize things on the court.

Duke -- I think your analysis on why Tyus doesn't get much playing time is spot on -- i.e., that Ricky gives us the best shot to win now while Dunn has the biggest upside of all three. I don't think we disagree that a lot of people on this board have been calling for more minutes for Tyus and I'm one of them. I was just referring generally to fans and pundits undervaluing Tyus. With Zach probably out the rest of this week, Tyus should have an opportunity for meaningful minutes. I hope Thibs gives him the opportunity.

I'll just mention Lip that based on a couple recent podcasts with Jon K and Souhan I listened to today I think there are plenty of fans out there that want to see Tyus get run. Jon K thinks he deserves getting minutes. That's hard to argue with based on how Tyus has performed when called on.

Again I think this is a good problem to have at this point and for a few years I have been saying the Wolves needed I add young PG talent even though I loved Rubio. There is a chance that none of these guys are anything more than Fringe starter types like Ridnour, Calderon, Jack etc.

At the ripe oleg age of 35 , I dont recall giving you a specific year that he won his match ups every so often only that he did during his career. Ricky has dreams of shooting 38% . Yes Rubio won his match up last nite, if I checked each game this year how comfortable would you be in saying he won his match up?
Anyways, getting off topic. I guess my point was if you have 3 pgs all having different abilities and flaws you just complicate matters when you trade one out with the other. I would like to see a more well rounded vet brought In who brings some consistency to the table.

Who is this vet that is a good, but not great two way player that wins his matchup semi-regularly that is attainable? Don't just throw out this ideology with no realistic options.

Pork, My point is that the Lakers won a title the year Derek Fisher was 35, averaged 7 PPG, and shot 38%. That's because their team was built around their big men and Kobe. The PG position was purely a caretaker role. If KAT/Wiggins/LaVine ever reach the upside many people think they have, we do not need a PG that wins his matchups regularly or even semi-regularly because the other three guys are winning their matchups!

How often did Harrison Barnes win his matchup for Golden State the year they won their title? Or Mario Chalmers with Miami? Or Ron Harper with the Bulls?

So again, please tell me which of the big three you are willing to trade and for who so that we get a point guard that wins his matchup a lot more often?

I also don't think it would be that hard to find a vet pg that shoots better than Ricky and Dunn and has more size and ability to play D than Jones. Not like we're chasing a unicorn there.

And I gave you guys my solution after last season when Ricky had what you guys called a "career year" . Trade him at his peak. No one was having that .

And the solution to keep him has panned out how exactly? If Wiggins doesn't meet expections as the number 1 pick it's time to trade him. Ricky hasn't met expectations as the number 5 pick and everyone just lowers the bar in order to keep him. It really is confusing.

The problem is you aren't describing the type of player that changes teams often. How many PG's that can shoot and defend are moving around in the league? I could say we need a stretch 4 who can rebound and protect the rim at an elite level. It's a great idea. It's not realistic to acquire. That's why I at least would like a name or two. Throw out someone who realistically fits what you want and could be seen as available maybe. If you can't even think of 1 player then why do you get to say that it's not that hard to find one?
