and until further notice, Towns should not be lumped in with these other young bigs oozing with talent. He's not on their level.

To be fair... I've seen him dropping on those lists.

In fact, I saw one today where he was ranked #9... among CENTERS!

Butler sprained his finger in the loss tonight.

Makes you wonder how much losing because you don't do the little things it takes before Towns gives a shit on defense and actually sets a screen and Wiggins plays more actively everywhere. Wouldn't you get tired of it after 3 and 4 years? Are they just blind to the parts of their game that significantly negatively affect us? We're talking basic basketball fundamentals that they just don't want to do game in and game out. They play like the other team should just hand them the win and hand them the trophy and hand them the league without having to earn any of it. How does this organization after all we've been through end up with two of the most highly coveted number 1 picks in recent memory and neither of them play like a real superstar?

He should still be in the conversation. The guy has plenty of talent. The problem is the defensive end where other guys have made strides and he hasn't. I heard that Porzingis allowes something ridiculous like 29% at the rim or something that won't hold up but yeah.

Because this franchise has a losing culture and when you get paid millions like the players do, losing doesn't seem so bad.

I've said for years now that this team needs a fresh look. And I'm not talking about GMs, coaches, players, team logos or arenas. I'm talking about ownership and In particular Mr Glen Taylor. If it wasn't for KG this team would be called the Seattle Super Sonics or Vancouver Timberwolves. Problem is Glen won't sell while the price is low.

On one hand you have Towns who I honestly think tries to do too much and gets antsy instead of just doing the right thing and letting the game come to him which leads to problems on both ends. Then Wiggins who calmly tries to calculate his way through things although he is putting forth more effort this year.

I just watched that last possession and wow yeah those Towns screens were pretty bad. The first one he clearly was trying to get open for the 3. I remember his rookie year KG telling Towns to slow down early on. It seems like that was good advice and maybe he needs to heed it again.

I think there are some fundamental problems with Wiggins -- his motor, his ballhandling and IQ. KAT has defensive IQ issues and, as Monster pointed out, he sometimes tries to do too much. Lately he seems a bit demoralized. Who knows.

It can't always be that the highly coveted players we draft turn out to fall well short of expectations. KG didn't fall short. Marbury was actually at his best when he played here. Wally Z lived up to expectations, making the allstar team, but his career was short-circuited by injuries. But that's not what we're seeing with Thibs. The team was no better under Thibs last season than they were the season before under Mitchell. We underachieved then and after upgrading our roster with Butler, Gibson and Jamaal, we're still underachieving. You have to really strain to find improvement in Wiggins' game and KAT appears to be regressing. Dunn was a disappointment last season but appears to be playing much better now with the Bulls.

My bottom line is this. We need a new head coach. We need a coach who adapts to and gets the most out of the players he has. A coach who connects with and motivates his players. And a coach who runs a 21st Century offense. You look at what Snyder is doing with the Jazz this season and compare their roster to ours. They were winning without Gobert for an extended stretch and they crushed the Wizards tonight in Gobert's first game back. Same with Stevens and the Celtics. They have the best record in the NBA with a rookie starting at one wing position and 2nd year player starting at the other. The Spurs keep winning without Leonard, Parker and Demond from last season. The Wolves should not be losing games like this one or those home games we lost against the Wizards and Heat.

I was thinking that myself. Must be too much Ganja. Towns did say it should be legal for NBA players. But as most of us know, it can make you a bit brain dead and even a bit lazy. All things they have trouble with. Making smart plays on defense and motivated to play hard all game.

*I have no evidence and this is all speculation*

I just can't figure out why they can't learn to play defense.
