Rubio getting traded tells me Thibs wants Butler to be a main ball handler which makes me think whichever PG comes in won't be handling it all the time. Who are the best off the ball PGs available? And can they play D?

Beverly would be the best option by far. If we flipped this pick + something for him I'd like it.

I was just going to post this idea also.

Got to admit I thought the same exact thing. We need a defender and shooter. If Griffin leaves they need assets to rebuild.

Would love to acquire Pat Beverley from the Clippers. Not as a starting PG, but as a 6th man who could start if required. If the Clippers loose Paul and Griffin I see them going full rebuild mode which means we could possibly land him for OKC 1st and maybe unload Aldrich at the same time.

Hmm... I guess that washes away the last remnant of the Kahn era. So there's that.

I was thinking that too...but as I was typing I remembered Belly is still here. Kahn lives! Lol

I believe Cool was the first to go 100% Porkchop. Well done.

I'm really sorry to see Rubio go. I really wanted him to be able to get to the playoffs with the Wolves. Best of luck Ricky.

This does signal a massive overhaul for the team. After a very patient offseason last year, Thibs is making his mark and expressing his judgment on what it takes to get this team to compete.

Dang! I forgot about that one!

So, if we bring back Tolliver, who was signed by Kahn back in 2009, would that still count???

I did but came to regret it over time. But i was one of the first to explain what the real problem was with having Ricky. That problem was that he didn't have to be closely guarded during the 4th quarter and at crunch time. It just makes it very difficult on the rest of your players. That being said I always liked the guy, especially his first couple years when he played with a lot of abandon. Then Adelman came in and it all seemed to change. He never lived up to the initial expectations but i will remember him mostly fondly as a Timberwolve..

It was awesome to see Ricky's run after the All Star break too. I hope he continues where he left off. Then again it would be another kick in the balls for Minnesota fans who watch one of their players move on and finally click.

Thibs loved this core of guys so much he got rid of almost all of them.

It feels like I'm rooting for a different team now.

Clearly I hate the Rubio trade and subsequent acquisition of Teague. I hate being lied to by the front office. I hate that we're essentially building the teams Thibs couldn't get far with.

The only reason why I'm not flat out abandoning ship is because I already gave up on this franchise winning a ring. If they make the playoffs ONCE it'll be worth it, but but this is where I'm at with this team and it just sucks.

I just have one question to the board: if this team still continues to fail, who is the new whipping boy?

Thibs traded For a legit top 15-20 player what he gave up he got a heck of a return in Butler.

Rubio they got a first round pick for and then signed a guy that's played 66 playoff games for a few million more. Thibs has said over and over "you always look for ways to improve your club" I loved the guys we had on our team but it's really hard to argue this doesn't improve the team.

If it doesn't work...it's on Thibs but it probably also means somebody either got hurt or didn't develop.

What I like is that while Thibs is going in on being good now he hasn't just left the possibility of improving with young player by the wayside. They added a young player in Patton who has upside. They could have done something that got them a player that helped them now. For Rubio they added a draft pick that could land them another cheap young player. What's great about those none lottery first rounders is they don't cost a whole lot of money. Lottery guys they get a bit expensive. It's often worth it but you get what I mean.
