I think the uproar over a move like this would be enormous...I don't see it happening. Flip has said a few times that he will ultimately be measured by the choice he makes for head coach, and handing the job over to a guy who has never been hired for an NBA job by anyone other than his dad, and even has a lowly role on his dad's teams, would be absurd.

I will admit I had a sick feeling in my stomach when Glen gave his niece the CEO role in his company last week though. But she had a real resume.

What a shock (not!). Flip perfectly set the bar low with this past season. All they have to do is not tank and they'll show improvement. That buys him another year as coach. And things should (assuming the draft/development works out) keep getting better at that point. Flip's not stepping aside as coach if things start going well. You change coaches after shitty seasons (like last one) - not when things are going well.

We can rip Flip (and probably will from time to time)... but the man has proven to be a shrewd businessman.

He went from being unemployed after a disastrous stint in Washington to one of the most powerful and secure men in the entire NBA.

He's one of the most well-connected guys in the league. That's for sure.

Glen seems really lucid and upbeat in this clip. It does sound like the new facilities they opened are top notch.
