This doesn't matter, in my opinion. I want the best players I can get on the floor. If we're trading for one, yes, I want Parsons. We had the advantage at SG last season most of the time anyway and it didn't mean a whole lot.

Yeah the advantage until the late in the game when D starts to REALLY matter lol. A good defensive SG with scoring power would certainly have swung quite a few games in our direction last year.

idk, for me.. my preference would be getting a legit 2 way SG that this franchise really has never had.

I like both parsons and Thompson. Cam makes some solid arguments in favor of parsons, but for me the deciding factor when I see a tossup is position need. I think we can cobble together an acceptable rotation at SF, but I'm not as happy with SG. Being able to give significant minutes to a guy like Thompson at that position gives us the biggest boost I think.

Taking the Thompson vs. Parsons angle out of the potential trades which total package does everyone like better?
David Lee and Harrison Barnes
or
Terrence Jones, Jeremy Lin, and future pick(s)/Clint Copella.

One more aspect to consider is the Parsons deal he come over already signed long-term, while the GS deal we would have to work out a long-term deal with Klay afterwards

I personally like the Houston package because I feel like it is more future oriented, while the GS package is more of a win right now without a ton of room to grow outside of Klay.

Houston and it's not even close.

When you frame the Houston package vs. the Golden State package, I COMPLETELY agree with Camden: it's not even close.

Houston gives us additional young assets that any team giving up a superstar player NEEDS in order to rebuild. Terrence Jones may not be our starting PF, but he could be moved in additional deals to find out starting PF or a high draft pick. The Parsons/Thompson debate is close, but the debate on trade packages is not.

Looks like Melo's going back to New York.

Try not to rip this question too much as really stupid. How effective would Jeremy Lin be playing off of Ricky. I don't know if he can defend at all, but he's a pretty good shooter, right?

Don't sell Terrence Jones short, he may not be Kevin Love, but he's a solid PF and he's still only 22.

Lin is not a good defender and not a good shooter. I like him though as he plays unselfishly and fearless. He is fun to watch and his 'linsanity' run was trully memorable.

Is he a good fit with rubio? I think rubio can play with anybody and they can certainly work together as an attacking duo and keeping pressure on opposing guards. He needs to improve his jumper though and if he can shoot as well as barea then it will be a very good pairing.

Ive said it many times, for all of barea's fault, he actually is a nice compliment playing alongside rubio. They play well together. They just lack size to play together for long stretches. Just go watch our game vs the heat last season where we won. Wade sat out and martin was out for us. Heat startetd chalmers and cole while we started rubio and jj. Rubio and jj was great together playing extended minutes and we won that game.

If I was the Cavs I would go after Parsons.
