I'm caught up on games but haven't kept up with alot of stuff around the league.
I guess this is as good of a place to post about young players as anywhere but I have really liked what I have seen out of KBD in this recent stretch where he has actually played. He is kinda like a less experienced Deng. His length is a factor as a defender and he makes all kinds of good basket cuts for easy baskets. Notice also he is always getting up court one of the first guys always out there on the wing. It feels like watching him he looks like he at least belongs.
It's a small sample size in garbage time but I liked the bit I have seen from Cam Reynolds. The Detroit game he was really working hard communicating and moving his feet. He is pretty big (for a wing) although not KBD big but he seems to have quicker feet though. I'd like to see him get at least another 10 day and at this point they should probably try and play some more young guys. I wonder how much longer the G-league season is. I'd like to see Terrell get some run.

I agree with you, Monster. KDB has looked pretty good in his limited action post all-star break. I'll have to go back and look at Cam Reynolds in the Detroit game. To make the most out of the limited number of remaining games in this otherwise disappointing season, it's critical to allocate a lot of playing time to these young guys - KDB, Reynolds, Terrell, Okogie along with KAT, Saric and Tyus. We need to get the best possible assessment of what we have in all these guys as well as maximizing their development through actually NBA game action. We can't depend entirely on the June draft to find young talent that can develop as part retooling around KAT.

they gotta get the pick right, as in, if Zion is earmarked to be the best player in this class, our guy has to be the 2nd or 3rd best one.
They should just play the season out the way they've played the whole year so far.
The difference between 9th or 10 and 13th or 14th matters. It matters in determining the odds of jumping into the top 3 via the lottery and getting Zion, Barrett or Ja. And it obviously expands the list of better players available when on the clock. Every little edge mattters.

I see where you're coming from, but it's not a three player class. We'll have an opportunity to select a good young player wherever we fall in the lottery.

I agree with you Cam. I just think the odds of getting an elite player (or at least a very good player) increase with higher picks. That said, there's no substitute for having an astute front office and scouts no matter where you pick.
I'm interested in your point about this not bing a 3-player class. I don't have a clear idea yet. My sense now is that there are 2 elite players in the draft - Zion and Ja. I'm still not totally sold on Barrett but he seems the closest to a 3rd elite player. Beyond that, I don't have a good sense. I like what I've seen and read about Darius Garland, but unfortunately his injury deprived us of the chance to see much of him at the college level. Otherwise, I like Keldon Johnson, Nickeil Alexander and KZ Okpala. Who are some of the prospects you see as having elite potential and who are others you think can be very good?

I'll likely provide more analysis on these guys as the draft dwindles closer, but the following is a list of prospects in this draft class that I like a lot as well as prospects that I would rather stay away from. Keep in mind that I'm assuming the Wolves will be drafting in the 9-12 slot.
Love:
- Darius Garland, PG, Vanderbilt
- Jarrett Culver, SG, Texas Tech
- DeAndre Hunter, SF, Virginia
- Jaxson Hayes, PF/C, Texas
- Keldon Johnson, SG/SF, Kentucky
- Coby White, PG/SG, North Carolina
Hate:
- Nassir Little, SF, North Carolina
- Cam Reddish, SF, Duke
- Rui Hachimura, SF/PF, Gonzaga
- Romeo Langford, SG, Indiana
- Kevin Porter Jr., SG, USC

Thanks for the list Cam. I know it's early but doyou have any guys you would like and are realistic to get with the Miami 2nd?

It's hard to know exactly where guys will wind up in the draft and who exactly will declare. The rest of the college season, the combine, and private workouts can shift a few guys up or down. With that said, there are a few guys I have my eyes on that could be second round sleepers for a number of reasons.
- Darius Bazley, SF/PF, Princeton HS
- Matisse Thybulle, SF, Washington
- Mike Daum, PF, South Dakota State
- Caleb Martin, SF, Nevada
