I'm guessing fake in that they don't consistently stand up, take charge, lead, play tough D, etc.
I really don't know what to believe at this point, but I just saw this....
Paul George talking to the media about discussions he's had with Butler about everything.

From my perspective you cannot be a cornerstone if you aren't competent on both ends of the floor.

He hasn't even hit the big contract years yet, but his on/off was the best of the team last season and his off/def rtg split looks pretty good as well.

I'm definitely not worried about KAT personally. I think he has enough drive to be great and win to push him to the top and I think KG is right about him basically just not finding his voice yet, but he's still really young.
He came into the NBA really young like KG, while Butler came in after 4 years of college. If KAT played 4 years of college ball, he would be a rookie right now and Wig would be in his 2nd pro year. I wonder if Butler has thought about that.

If he wants out he's gonna play hard to show his value, not sandbag it because he's mad at the front office. Also Wiggins and Towns coming back with a great practice is exactly what Thibs and Jimmy want. This whole thing has been to light a fire under them from Thibs' perspective. That's why he hasn't condemned or spoken out about it. You want this team to be yours then you are gonna have to take it from Jimmy. Either they will and it will play right into Thibs hands getting them to finally show some real emotion and play hard or they won't and they'll be exposed for being fake franchise cornerstones. It's put up or shut up time and Thibs and Jimmy have done everything they can to get them to put up. If they do we might see Jimmy here long term. If they don't Thibs and Jimmy will be gone and we'll be left with two softies who just backed down to the challenge and the whole league will know it.
You are delusional
Elaborate. Or get the fuck out if you are just here to trash talk people and not actually debate something you disagree with.

On the ringer pod they mentioned after Jimmy left the practice that Towns brought the team together, huddled them up and told them all to keep their emotions in check and it was described as falling on deaf ears. A fake franchise cornerstone is someone who doesn't have the respect of their teammates even after putting up great stats. Towns has for sure put up the stats of a star...on offense. Guess what? That hasn't meant shit for the way he is viewed around the league and that's all you need to know about him being a fake cornerstone. These guys know empty stats when they see them and right now that's what he is.

This negative narrative KAT a few are peddling is ridiculous. KAT's numbers speak for themselves, including having the best on/off numbers on the team last season -- better than Butler. Oh, he's 23 years old with only three NBA seasons under his belt after one year in college.

I agree, I bitch about Kat but I know he is our best player. He is still a franchise player, he has holes but still so damn good that we don't appreciate it

I've been vasilating back and forth on how I feel about the situation, but I think Van Gundy was great in this with Lowe, in spite of it being very pro Thibs.

We don't make the playoffs last year without Towns. Heck as bad as this team was at Wing we don't make the playoffs without Wiggins!!!! Lol it's Kinda like a couple lifetimes ago because things have changed so much and comparing these two players isn't really fair but I remember Michael Jordon being ripped on for a number of his early years because he was just putting up stats etc and he played defense. I respect Kahns opinion but it's too early for me to expect Towns to have it all figured out at 23 especially when (a small factor) IMO this franchise may not have exactly been top shelf in terms of helping him develop. That's my opinion.
